I remember that and every time the stewards came to get it back, it was passed around us.

I remember something similar with a police helmet at Aldershot first game of the season in the late 80's....fun times.

Surely the question is whether your a football supporter or BHA supporter?

Ask all those Wycombe and Coventry fans would they like to see their team in a 30k stadium playing in the Prem against the top teams? I would expect the vast majority would. You take the rough with the smooth when you follow a club. For us, we have had serious doses of both.

It is of course a different experience but I wouldn't swap what we have or for that matter, the journey we've been on, or in fact the journey we are still on. It could end up back in the basement or it could lead to us watching the team in a foreign land. Isn't that the joy of supporting a team?
Good post.

There is not a cat in hells chance of me ever wanting to return to any of our old grounds or any other more modest ground further down the football pyramid. As an Albion fan of some 60 years it means not one jot to watch any other team at any other ground. As I used to joke before we got good, I'm an Albion fan not a football fan. I watch and have watched Albion play wherever they call home and The Amex is just the best. It's our home, not sterile, and I have enjoyed the buzz of the Business Club/Friends of the Albion, Christmas Lunch (a little weird with comedy and disco at lunchtime), pre-season forums, quizzes in Dicks Bar, business presentations, Albion in the Community health and well being course, and other stuff. We have a shop selling everything from calendars to baby clothes and well stocked bars, lounges and other food outlets. No it isn't Wycombe Wanderers and, no disrespect to them, but thank God for that. We are incredibly fortunate to have our wonderful club and I wouldn't even cross the road to watch any other.

Since Tony’s initial vision was established, we have extended our stadium, built a training ground, created our academy, and added a women’s and girls’ division to our club. We are now extending our training ground further, are looking to add more seats to our stadium, and have underlined our contribution to the local economy through the employment of more than 1,000 people, many local, each match day – 20 times more people than in our League One days.

OMG They're adding another tier to the north stand!!!

The Amex is the issue for me. One steep stand or a singing section nearer the away fans would do the home experience a world of good.

Don't get me wrong it is a "nice" place to watch football.... but that's all it is.

However, away experiences are still as good as they have ever been in my opinion. I enjoyed Maupay's winner v ******** as much as I enjoyed Bas Savage and Alex Revells' last minute winners v Hartlepool and Bradford respectively.

Was that when we beat Bradford 2-3 away ?

Yes, that is frustrating. I even got buzzed by a steward at Ebbsfleet though, as the camera isn’t small. I shot those using a Canon 5D Mk III with an EF-L II f/2.8 70-200, which is a simply glorious lens. Because I work with Sussex Sports Photography I’ve upgraded to a Canon 1DX (which I’ve just had to spend almost £700 on a service with new shutter and mirror box).

I’d love a 500mm lens but they’re the same cost as my car.

Glad you liked the pics.

That's really impressive with a 200mm, even if 2.8. I've a 300mm at 5.6 and can't get anything like the quality. Probably need to practice more (and spend more)!

Yes. If you bother reading PB’s response and understanding what is meant by it, you’d have to be really thick to not be.
Perhaps he's only happy being taken for granted, treated like shite, given sub human facilities and branded a criminal...

...oh.

Enjoyed it, as I have every game this season and yes, value for money.

Experience wise it doesn't and can't contend with the experiences gained on the journey to where we are. That's just the result of what has happened to football. The experience is lessened as a result.
