Yeah. Some absolute rubbish from the commentator who just suggested that Newcastle "are doing to Forest what Forest have done to so many teams this season".

Forest have been exactly the opposite of that for most of their games. The only team they've absolutely smashed is, er, us with our patented 4-1-5 formation. They're counter attacking masters, who tend to sneak a goal and then shut up shop.

Was hoping for a brief moment there that Isak would miss next Sunday's game with a bruised ballbag, but he appears to be limping on.
Isaks nutsack I'd have thought ???

Newcastle are absolutely going for them. What they are doing that we didn’t is not giving away super soft goals for fun. If you give Forest no presents and try to overwhelm them, you have a chance if you can finish your chances.
They are also playing at home. We went at them in the home fixture, that should have been the other game they took the lead and lost but we didn't get a deserved third and then they equalised. I would like to play them now at home with our full team.... thats probably true for most clubs tbh...

In the two games since we lost 7-0 to Forest our goal difference is +7.

In the one and a half games since Forest beat us 7-0 their goal difference is -4.

We know the universe loves balance, so three more unanswered goals for Newcastle in the second half and we can all sleep soundly.
Does this make us favourites for the cup match ?

Forest continued to get their season long good fortune until Toon equalised, hopefully today is the turning point….

Scores all over the place lately, some not so obvious hammerings, some teams on the receiving end and dishing it out.

Fatigue, injuries?
Partially maybe a result of 15 teams being mid-table. The subconcious vibe when falling two goals behind is often going to be "doesn't matter much what I do, another game next week" rather than "we desperately need to get back into the game". A lot of teams don't know what they're really fighting for.

I agree with the commentary here. Some of these yellow cards are for very little.

If 8th secures a European place, do you think we’ll make it?

Emotional rollercoaster supporter here …. I feel optimistic. Our injuries (touch wood) are clearing up and we don’t face the European distractions of some others. In addition, that old chestnut, managers that kept playing the same players such as Emery and Nuno may pay a price.

Kind of... but if we strictly look after whats best for us, a Nottingham win is a no brainer imo.

We won't catch them, they're 7 points ahead of us and better than us at football.

As long as they don't get any injuries, I agree with you. But if they get a few injuries, suddenly I don't think they're that good.

Newcastle are always one Joelinton or Isak injury away from being a very average team, I'd say we have a 50/50 chance of finishing above them.

Did you see how Forest were over the last few years? They've been consistently shit. This season is the anomaly, and helped by a the complete absence of injuries.

Curiously, Pope doesn't appear to have suffered his usual muscular trouble necessitating a quick examination by the physio today.

Eddie must be happy with how things are going.
