White-powdered peer pressure to stay …. “We’re like Boca, ain’t we, like?” …. muttered from a fly catching gob.A crowd of maybe 100 making noise while the rest of the stand empties out around them.

It's noise. It's completely irrelevant to the game.It is the definition of support, pretty much... turning quiet or booing when things go bad - now that isn't support.
It’s a very Everton signing on huge wages. If they stay up.Southampton are crap and Nathan Jones is crap.
I wonder where JWP will go at the end of the season?
This with bloody great knobs on. Earlier this year I went to see Werder Bremen v Eintracht Frankfurt. The home support were making a good din, albeit a din orchestrated by several blokes with loudspeakers down at the front. Frankfurt took the lead after 45 seconds. The “good din” carried on unabated, completely at odds with what had just happened down on the pitch. Why credit? Team capitulate, woah woah woah woah. Team play well, woah woah woah woah. Its noise, nothing more. May as well pipe it through the pa system.
Nothing to do with club or team, it isn't support. It's all about them acting out in the way they think football supporters do so that folk mention them. Social media driven football support. Utterly pathetic.

... seems we're just into very different things when it comes to football experiences. This with bloody great knobs on. Earlier this year I went to see Werder Bremen v Eintracht Frankfurt. We’ve all been to enough matches to know what a home crowd should sound like after going behind within a minute. Lots of Anglo-Saxon invective coupled with a wry chuckle here and there. The continued orchestrated warblings of those not watching what’s actually happening is right out. Sure, it was a spectacle of sorts but it was still just… wrong.
Oh, I’m not saying it isn’t supportive. I totally get that it’s probably better for the team than a bunch of verbals.... seems we're just into very different things when it comes to football experiences.
Still don't see how singing for the team in good and bad times is anything other than supportive.
To sack your manager and get a new manager plummet is quite impressive in its own way.Southampton are spectacularly shit - can’t help but feel Ralph Hassenhuttel would’ve got something out of tonight’s game. Feel sorry for Jones but he appears to be completely out of his depth.
Zero shots on target and completely outplayed by Forest - at home - it’s really not looking good
No need to look over your shoulder. You continue at this pace and you'll end up on around 60pts. Good enough for 7th in an average season. Can I now officially want the lower league teams to defeat those above us or do I keep looking over our shoulder ??
In his defence, we were time wasting a lot. But, yeah, he's got some cheek.Arteta morning about Newcastle time wasting
Singing for the team or singing for themselves, look at me in my uniform, listen to me with my drum.... seems we're just into very different things when it comes to football experiences.

They were really quiet all game too - even at 0-0.The Holmesdale half empty. Are they Everton in disguise ?
As someone said... cultural stuff. Just take the Everton game... they were in desperate need for some energy from their surroundings and I barely know if the sound is on or not until they concede and start moaning about their team. For the majority of the game a couple of hundred (or how many you were) Brighton fans make more noise than 30k+ home supporters. Not my cup of tea and struggle to see in what sense the Everton fans were trying to support their struggling team, but we all have different preferences.Singing for the team or singing for themselves, look at me in my uniform, listen to me with my drum.
An atmosphere, genuine support, is when there's a connection. Quiet periods are part of that, it ebs and flows with the game. When the teams under pressure the support reacts, provides the support. With every attack it changes, a roar builds as the encouragement and excitement builds.
How is monotonous woah woah woah thud thud thud supportive? It's like covid football with artificial sound. I appreciate that is what many mainland Europe clubs do but I think it is pretty poor. Noise for noise sake, their interpretation.of UK supporters in the 80's,. Pathetic stuff
You're absolutely correct, of course...... seems we're just into very different things when it comes to football experiences.

For me the HF are a reskinned England Band. It's an orchestrated dirge that was briefly in vogue and entertaining but very soon the vast majority of fans found dull if not nauseating.Singing for the team or singing for themselves, look at me in my uniform, listen to me with my drum.
