In this regard unfortunately over the last couple of seasons the house that we reside in has become increasingly...crystalline.

I genuinely think that under Hughton and Potter there was a desire to play clean (within reason) even if that led to a slight disadvantage sometimes. That's no longer the case.

As exhibits A and B, I give you Mr Veltman and Mr Pedro.
Agree, but we would be fools not to do it. I've often thought we were too 'nice' for our own good in the past. It will only stop when refs start clamping down on it (like Hoops did with Doku yesterday)

Yes but 'he who is without sin ..........' Pedro yesterday clutching his throat. Needs to cut that out.
Yeah, I was cringing watching that on MOTD. Thankfully they didn't make much of it, but it's an awful part of his game, and he wastes far too much time sitting on the turf each game being told to get up.

The problem is, referees will all know he does it and it will make him less likely to get free kicks for challenges that actually are fouls.

Newcastle win they get the Conference League slot. Full stop.
BUT as the Conference is the lowest of the European competitions then should they qualify for either of the others by finishing above the Conference slot then that slot is given to another team.
So as it stands, 5 slots for UCL (this is pretty much nailed on now).
6th gets Europa League along with the FA Cup Winners.
7th is the Conference.
Should the FA Cup winners finish in the top 6 that frees up another UEL spot and moves Conference to 8th.
.............and if ManU or Spurs win the Europa League, or Chelsea win the Conference, could that muddy the waters even further?

I think I've given up on all the permutations, and worrying about them; I'll just happily sit and wait for the end of the season and see what happens then!

See above. Let he who lives in a glass house cast the first stone.

Or summat.

Joao Pedro would give ANY player in the PL a run for their money in the 'fake-acting and being an arse' stakes unfortunately.

Hope he either cuts it out or we get rid.

It will stop if our manager tells them to stop. Obviously I'd prefer your option though.
