I've decided to support Sheffield United in this fixture and they really are an impressive team, they spread it around nicely, good touch and control and they love to drive forward. Enda Stevens is the kind of player most would want in their squad. Wilder is a damn-fine manager. If they'd just got a couple of crosses on target they'd be in front

West Ham are going to be fine this season because they have a lot of quality in their side. But it really is that kind of lazy-quality, turn it on in the attacking third but can't be bothered to track the runner, easily get frustrated - Anderson, Lanzini, Masuaku. The central defence have done very well mind.

I've got a feeling sheff United's second half of the season will be nowhere near as good as their first half...

Me too, and it probably won't be.... but I think they're playing pretty well tonight - solid in defence, excellent build-up play through the midfield - but terrible crossing

... and they've just scored, another goalkeeping howler by West Ham - a deserved lead

1-0 Sheffield Utd

Gift from Hammers keeper. McBurnie did his best to miss it.

They are too good to go down? Just as they were each and every time they've been relegated.

To be fair, I think the centre half was equally at fault there. Looked like he had cement in his boots!

Not ‘equally’ given that as well as gifting them the ball in the first place, Martin also proceeded to dive over the resulting mishit!
