First of all, your forgetting my original point. In the eye of the fans, AP was doing a good job. and I think our fans opinion carries more weight than yours when talking about the Saints.
Secondly, lets compare the types of games, players and grounds ive witnessed over the past 30 years as a Saints fan. Ah what could have been if I had supported Albion. Yeah really gutted.
Lastly, support your local team FFS.
So why don't you support Brighton?

Mum lived in Sussex, Dad in Hampshire when I was younger. Was at Dads every weekend. Hence SFC fan.
People go to watch and support THEIR team not the oppositionFirstly. In the eyes of MY Saints supporting mates - no he wasn't, especially.
Well they dont reflect the opinion of most other sfc fans
Secondly. I've enjoyed my thirty years as an Albion fan, perfectly well, cheers.
You would of enjoyed them more if you were able to watch Le Tissier, Shearer, Walcott, Bale etc on a weekly basis and Henry, Rooney, Ronaldo, Bergkamp etc etc once or twice a season
Lastly, I grew up in HOVE. The Albion ARE my local team. Whereas YOU grew up in Sussex, and support Saints.

I don't know why you think that should be true?
If you think the enjoyment is purely based on the level you're playing at, and subsequent quality of players you can attract, then should you not have ditched Saints in 2006 and bought a Chelsea [or PORTSMOUTH] scarf?
I've watched the Albion in all four divisions, and can tell you for a fact that if I ranked all the seasons in terms of overall enjoyment, there would be little or no correlation between that and the division we were in. I've had brilliant times following the Albion to Chester, and Crewe, and Rotherham, and St.Mary's, just as much as I've enjoyed watching them at Anfield, and Villa Park and the rest.
You've seen some big grounds, but have NEVER seen your team promoted. You've had 25 years of "let's hope we can just escape relegation again, and hopefully not sell ALL our good players", followed by three seasons of comedy decline. I've seen us in all kinds of stadia, and have witnessed about 14 seasons that ended in promotion or relegation. I know which sounds more fun [and it isn't wanking over the opposition's big names].
Similarly, if I listed my ten favourite Albion players, and the ten BEST Albion players I've watched, the lists would be very different.
Maybe we're just different, eh?

erm....so have they got a new manager now then?

That just about sums up EVERYTHING that is wrong with the attitude of a majority of the Saints fans I know.
So what you're saying is that the support of your team is irrelevant and it's all about the opportunity to see 'top' players in action, albeit once or twice a season.
I've supported Brighton & Hove Albion for 42 years and wouldn't change that experience for ANYTHING. Like Simon, i've seen us play in all 4 divisions but for me, it was all about watching MY TEAM, not the superstars of Man Utd and Liverpool.
I've had just as much enjoyment watching us beat Rochdale as any of the big boys and THAT's what it's all about.
I live and work in Southampton and have to endure this 'we're a Premier League team in all but name' shit on a daily basis.
Pile of WANK
