Does anyone remember at the Goldstone
the pre match entertainment was David Bedford running around the pitch on the red gra?. Very simple but highly entertaining and I think he did about 50-100 laps. Early/mid 70s I think

These were the days of only three TV channels remember, and no internet. Watching someone run round a football pitch was top notch entertainment.

There was. a guy I knew called Bill Bleach . He claimed to have played for an Albion team Under 16s, also against the Albion , at the goldstone , refereed there , ran the line there and to top it all played in a marching band before the game .

Yes it's a shame, as l enjoy both. David Bedford not so much.

Bedford was a very talented runner of his generation and not a target for mocking and piss taking.He wore a sweatband around his head long before Steve Foster so you lot can stick that up your arse
