True, but then I can't imagine doing that, even if I were religous. If my child was missing, I wouldn't stop looking to have a 30 minute prayer. How could you stop searching when you have not found her?

It might help to recharge the batteries. Re-focus the mind. Lift the spirits and stop the thought that all is lost.

Great, great things have been inspired by collective prayer.

Yorkie, like you I don't want to get into an argument, but I am genuinely interested in an explanation of that.

How could it help them more, enough to cover more ground etc, in even less time? Or is that not what you mean by help more?

I'm not trying to offend anyone, but at the end of the day, isn't this (or certainly, wasn't it to start with) about covering every inch possible?

I find if I have 10 mins prayer before I start the day I get far more done than if I skip it.
Simple explanation. I'm not going into any further than that because there are those on this site who love to mock and scoff.

I guess it is difficult for me to understand. I did alot of 'praying' at school and when I say praying, I mean bowing my head and thinking of the some of the girls in my year and what they look like naked.

I won't ever understand the power of prayer as it did/does nothing for me. If it helps them then so be it. I would imagine they will need a great deal of strength over the coming weeks and possibly longer if there is an adverse result to this investigation. :(

To be fair Yorkie, many of us are not here to mock and scoff. Like DTES I am genuinley interested in what a believer feels benefits them from aprayer.

I guess some of us are thinking from a practical, pragmatic and best use of time scenario.

From reading your post however I can appreciate that if it helps you focus, settle the mind and get things sorted before starting a task or starting the day then I understand that.
