With reports on the BBC website reiterating Poyet’s desire to manage at the highest level and to manage his home nation, how long do people feel we can keep him for.

I must admit whilst I was very happy about the appointment, I always felt he would simply use us as a stepping stone, similar to his short spell at Swindon as assistant.
Now almost two years on, he is still with us and the team and club are improving at some pace, I think I’m right in saying that in the past he has said in the press as long as the team keeps improving and going in the right direction he could see himself being with us for a long time but with our fantastic start and the inevitable attention from bigger clubs, do people think this is less likely?

Personally, I think he’ll only stay for the remainder of his contract which should give him enough time to really put the club on the map so to speak but I’d be interested to hear what others felt?

If we get promoted and do well he'll stick around until a very big offer comes in. If we don't get promotion then maybe the big offers won't come anyway coz he's not proven at the top level!

I’d be inclined to agree with that and let’s be honest if he does manage to get us into the topflight and we can compete I don’t think anyone could complain if he left us for a top team or the Uruguay national team.

To be fair to Gus, the interview has been taken as an extract from the Leicester pre-match interviews discussing Sven so shouldn't be taken as a sign that he wants to leave anytime soon. You'd be more disappointed if he had no ambition and was happy to manage at a lower level.

I think it all depends on whether we get promoted. If we go up, he is more likely to stay (although on the other hand, he'd probably attract more interest...!)

I'm pretty sure Gus' contract will last another 2 years from the end of this season won't it? Bit of a shit lot of options really cos there's a considerable difference between the end of this season and the end of his contract. For what it's worth I think we'll be VERY lucky to have him in 2-3 years time, i suspect that he's go in the middle or at the end of NEXT season to a top 6 club here or in Spain

He'll see out his contract and then reassess where he is as a manager and where we are as a team. If he has progressed as a manager faster than the club and has an offer from a big Premier League team he'll be off. But, if the he and the club and progressing together and he feels he can continue to build a CV at the club which will give him a shot at managing his country he'll stay.

No BIG offers will come until he has got us out this league and comfortably kept us up, and anyone thinking that Chelsea will take him based on a single promotion to the Premiership is frankly retarded.

I think he will see out his contract, but would expect him to be off after that.
