The good thing about Gus is that he is still young. Plenty of time for him to attain his goals so will, hopefully, stick around and show all how good he is. Then in a couple of years, he will have made his point and will then move on to a larger club for another 5 years or so before having a crack at a national team.
I'd be more worried if we had a 50 something manager who is running out of time before managing a big club.
If we get promoted, I think he'll stay another season.
If we do well but do NOT get promoted (e.g top 10 or losing in playoffs) then he may move on if someone attractive comes along.
If we finish mid table or below then maybe he's not all that (although he clearly is IMO) and it won't matter either way.
What's good is that, as we've got a great setup now, if/when he does leave, we won't have too much trouble attracting other good managers. No doubt TB will replace him with another like-minded manager (I hope! so NO allardyces etc. )
FEK..whats the point of this?..might as well have a poll on when the world will end...live just for the next match...fek knows what will happen in tht let alone anything else
I think Gus would be very unwise to leave us until he's won promotion at the least, he'll need a VERY strong cv to get the job he wants and while he has assembled a great squad for us when he gets to the prem he'll find the players with huge egos (who he clearly doesn't like) and as we know they can make a manger's job impossible when they disrupt the dressing room - be very careful when you consider leaving us Gus, you could probably stay here 10 years if you wanted and realize all your dreams, if winning is the game.
