So, what's new? I stopped reading at about page 20 last night when there was no news other than Bloom had given Reading permission to speak to Poyet. Actually, I'm not sure if that's true. It might have been rumoured that he gave permission. Has anything concrete happened since then?

Even though he gave McDermott limited funds and then expected instant premier league survival? NO...Not trigger happy at all! :facepalm;

The money was there but for some reason McD didn't spend it. Think we had around £10m to spend and used hardly any of it. It was exactly the same when Coppell was in charge for our 2nd season in the Premiership - he was far too loyal to the players that did a great job the previous season. Take a look at this article from the January window (Reading FC tried to sign Gylfi Sigurdsson from Spurs - Reading FC - Football - Sport - getreading - Reading Post)

By January McD knew we were in trouble but the prices of players is inflated far too much and the gamble was far too high. He should have done all our business back in the summer - then maybe we wouldn't be in this mess.

Although Anton is our new owner, Madesjki is still our Chairman (until September at least) so any decision would have been made by the board, not just the owner.

Still nothing at all on the BBC website and I cling to the hope that this is because they deal in fact rather than speculation.

Hehehe...the BBC dealing in fact eh?

Now I find that funny!

They said "it looks like Poyet is going to Reading and it's good it's been done in the right way", so they weren't saying it's a done deal, just speculating.

Why are so many people starting fresh threads on this subject? I appreciate that the OP thinks he is being funny but there must be a dozen started threads today/yesterday all on the same subject.

I just turned off the m6 to check if what they said is true.

I think they are just reviewing the papers, so its last nights news. Something in the daily express?

It would be a lot less difficult getting a team promoted with a very large transfer budget. Gus is just after an easy life; and Reading will provide that. I expect him to be gone before the day is out.
