but why would Gus take that, verses finishing what he has started. makes no sence at all, leaving a club a point from potential promotion for a club 7 points from safety of relegation.

Double your wages and a transfer kitty of £10-£12 million?

They just did on the report I watched.

Yeah sorry, I posted again just afterwards when I heard that. They definitely softened the language on the opening sequence though, dunno if that means anything.

Makes a change for me to be watching NSC and SSN obsessively and reading far too much into stuff, when it's not even the last day of the transfer window.

Sky sports reporting that they once had an ounce of credibility. Sources deny they are a soundboard for their betting company"there is no truth in this rumour.......or is there"....care to bet guvnor!

Give it a couple of hours..This is the first time ever the club has said they are allowing him to speak. I think that speaks volumes, don't you???
Not really. Any club that asks gets told the fee they'd have to pay Brighton - Reading have been told and presumably they're saying they can afford it, so they get permission to speak to Gus. I think that's about it.

I will accept the ban. I am only going by what my source is, but I decided to share it here, so the ban I shall accept :)
There is a big difference between posting

"He's gone" and

"I have a source who say's he's gone, but I have nothing to substantiate this"
Exactly.

Well, I'm killing the person who told me if their wrong - put it that way.
Fair call

Just got back from the pub and stumbled across this. Surely nonsense. I'd be amazed if anything comes of it.

And have a relegation on his CV?

If he does well with us, takes us up and continues to do well then his chances of landing the Chelsea job improve. If he cocks up at Reading he can kiss landing either the Chelsea or Tottenham jobs goodbye.

I would hold back for a while if I was you,,,something is going on.

Actually, I think he was calling you a 'clown', for asking the question "Talksport can't just make things up, can they?"

hard to argue.

Have sky sports done what they did with the Chelsea job? Get SkyBet to cut the odds slightly then promote this "news" on sky sports news so more money goes on Gus to Reading

Ok, put it this way. It's the first time the media have been informed he can speak to another club. If he didn't want to go he wouldn't be interested in what they got to say would he???.....

That is a MASSIVE difference to "The club is letting him speak to Reading", you tool. You seriously believe what is covered on SSN? Oh man.

Feeling a bit sorry for Diego Poyet tbh. Footballer in his own right, yet 90% of his tweets are people asking about his dad!!!!

Both clubs have a similar chance of being in the Premiership next season. He'd get more money and parachute payments at Reading, but I'm not sure it'd be the best career move long term.

Would be a strange one.

So you think a REPORT on TALKSPORT is the same as "the club has said they are allowing him to speak".

Wow.

WOW.

Buckloads of THIS!

No saying he's not going to go, but the faith that some people put in talkSPORT and Sky Sports News – about as credible as tabloid newspapers – is unbelievable...

Right, I'm going to bed. Delicious bowl of instant noodles eaten- added the usual soy, garlic and chilli plus a spoonful of peanut butter. It was a taste revelation. If goes goes to Reading, I'll eat my hat.

Let me get this right, Gus is currently in Barbados, while Adkins is currently in Reading talking to them about being the new manager. I know who my money is on... (doesn't say just in case i get it wrong).

It doesnt make sense. Clubs bottom of the premier league who changed manager have never stayed up. Clubs level on points with play offs have gone on to be promoted.

Surely he has more chance of managing in the prem next year with us ?
With a squad he has built ....
But stranger things have happened...
