What? In the first game you've watched all season?

Millwall outclassing the Albion also fits this similar story.

Young, hungry, technically better, physically stronger, teams, which have been sourced by superior scouting, outclassing a team which has cost either a lot more in transfer fees and/or wages.

What I see is players lacking confidence and belief, playing a system that isn't bringing results, and a bunch of new signings that have failed to make any real impact. Clearly, it's the manager that's the problem here.

On that basis, it has to be out.

It pains me to want a manager to go, however, we are not at Withdean treading water.

26000+ at Amex, watching utter tripe.

Sorry but Gus needs to go.

He has clearly run out of ideas & playing one recognised striker only today, one winger = lost the plot.

Always be remembered as our first manager at Amex & getting us to the Championship.
If he has any self respect he would walk into Blooms office & resign.
Gus you would then be able to leave with your head held high.

been on the fence soo long that i have splinters in my arse. I am officially off the fence, gus has lost the plot..... And the players. Bangs on about the need to get a target man, yet the top scorer in this division was let go for nothing. I really hope bloom gets rid.

muzza...

Today was an interesting watch as it really highlighted our managers current deficiencies

1) Watford despite being the away team setup with attacking intent we setup not to lose
2) they moved the ball quickly and with purpose pulled us out of shape. Our build up play was slow and pedestrian leaving plenty of time for them to organise themselves behind the ball
3) Their players attacked with freedom and variety whilst we looked too drilled and predictable
4) They created gaps and broke us down easily in the final third. We lacked imagination going forward and struggled to create clear cut openings

Overall I am gus in for now but he needs to shake the negativity and wake up to the fact that a win and 2 losses is a better return than 1 loss and 2 draws. A striker is not the answer if you have no cutting edge

Well played Watford though and their fans were quite rightly enjoying the style of play being laid on by Zola

don't remind us please! another twatting reason to get shot of poyet. we need a manager that can adopt the tactics dependent on who we are playing, instead we have someone who thinks we are friggin Barcelona and is conceited and stubborn to insist that we stick to one style of play and that other teams adapt to our tactics. unfortunately other teams are realising we are not in fact fookin Barcelona and manage to adapt quite easily to our one dimensional football.

On the fence still but taking Orlandi off for Barnes was f***ing stupid, especially after Lopez was having a shocker.

Orlandi was coming back from injury having been out for a few weeks. Was never going to play 90 mins

From in to fence, veering towards out. A clear illustration today that the sort of painfully slow build up play we specialise in really only works somewhere tropical. We need pace and we need it yesterday. My worry is that in January we will only get in more pedestrian ball players.

I say - give him this season... if we are 10th or above, then fair enough. But Im starting to doubt we will finish as high as that, in which case, in the summer we should rethink. I dont EXPECT a play-off place - after all, its a tough division, and there are quite a few good teams. Weve only recently come out of League 1, and to be fair, about 3 or 4 years consolidation in this league may be what is needed. And may be what we get. But I am getting frustrated at game after game dribbling through to half time, still 0-0, as the opposition slowly work their way into the game, then catch us with a goal ... and then watching yet another party in the away end, week after week, as we pass our way across the back four, out to the wings, back into the middle, stop, check, pass across the half way line, out to the full backs, back to the keeper... who hooooofs it into row z.
Give him until the summer - we didnt SERIOUSLY expect promotion this year did we? Really?

For me this defeat carries extra pain because it was inflicted by a side that finished below us last season, now comfortably above us this season, with less transfer fees and less wages, and all masterminded by Poyet's mate Zola.

I believe we have a better squad of players than last season, so why are we still hanging around 10th spot treading water?

Not so long ago we could boast of having the best defensive record in the division, of not losing by more than the odd goal, of being hard to beat. Palace and Watford have put those records to bed.

For me I'm on the fence. Poyet has made us a top half side and there's still much to be proud of, with larger clubs like Wolves, Birmingham, Bolton, Leeds, Forest and Blackburn all with major issues.

At the end of the day it's all about this transfer window. Poyet must add a striker, probably two. I'd see if Leeds were up for swapping CMS for Becchio, if Derby want Barnes on loan I'd let him go. And after today's performance - and bearing in mind the Lewis Dunk sending off vs Palace - a decent centre back might not go amiss either. We're certainly lacking some Cullip-style leadership.

I have lost all faith.[/QUOTE

Great guy, very charismatic, excellent for the profile of the club and has undoubtedly moved our club in the right direction BUT he has to try some different things out in terms of formations, pick players in there right positions and make changes earlier in the games if need be. Play 2 up top JUST ONCE! Ashley Barnes could play up there with CMS, Hoskins is a CF who plays up top NOT a left or right midfielder same applies for Barnes!! Why not play any of these players up top as a pair?? CMS is not able to do it up there on his own he doesn't have the size or technical ability to carry it off. The midfield don't support him enough and EVRYTHING is down the wings, when have we had a go at teams through the middle?? GUS go crazy play two wingers and two up front JUST ONCE or at least show us something different and lets go down with a fight. Watford were good today but we were utter dog shit. Some say look how far we have come and stop moaning but where do you draw the line?? We are in the amex there are 26,500 fans there week in week out we are in the mix why not be disappointed and why not have our say?!

First game in 88 and be going ever since so this is not a new fan.
