Hate to wade into this debate again, everyone is an RDZ fanboy because by far and away he’s the greatest manager we’ve ever had, and achieved something that wasn’t ever logically possible. Watching us in the best league in the world in 2022/23 was the best season of my life.

No argument from me about that season BUT would he have been able to do it without inheriting the Potter coached team? In fact would he have even taken the job if we hadn’t been 4th in the table when he took the job? No way of knowing….but

Worshipping RDZ whilst slagging off GP is just very very bizarre to me. I am talking about the team and style not the way he left (that is certainly fine to slag off imo)

People slag off GP because he left on a whim midseason, when it was just starting to click. Football fans are tribal, he did some good, but he never took us, or never had the chance to get us Europa League. Hes a good pantomime villain for me. Adding onto that he wasn’t in my opinion particularly charismatic. Football isn’t about data and sustained stability over a number of years, it’s about romance, passion, and massive moments and IMO we had very few of those in his tenure. Would I want to relive any of his reign again given the choice, not particularly, but RDZ, I’d do it all again. I think FH and GP are similar I don’t think they’ll achieve the heights of RDZ, but FH does have at least have the odd bit of passion.

Watching ITV pre game coverage, matches at Upton Park, great proper football ground with edge, always thought they could have developed the old East Stand by "tilting" above the existing road to bring capacity to around 55K...

That said Graham's main battle will be the the Olympic Stadium and the WHU fans difficulty of settling there..

That said I don’t think he’s a bad person at all, he seems a very nice guy, I just don’t think I have any interest in getting a pint with him 😂. You know like the guy in the office that supports Arsenal, but never goes, and never gets bitter, accepts refereeing decisions, has a pint and leaves at the Christmas do, 1 big holiday to Spain with the family, and a city break in the autumn, listens to Coldplay, but ultimately not a bad person.

Perhaps he would have got more out of him than the 7 (seven) goals he racked up in Bundesliga 2 that season. Not sure what the point is here especially if its to somehow argue that Potter wasn't successful at the Albion. He was. Thats just obvious.
And I very much doubt Potter had much to do with decisions to loan Gyokeres . or perhaps it justs impossible to see then what we know now. especially with those two players. it happens.
Obviously a sore one for Bloom as he was willing to spend £20m to get him back.

Was any of the "wealth of player talent" available to the manager - anything to do with the head coach of the Albion at the time. Their success at developing players must have been quite good don't you think ? Wonder who that was ?
Well he had more or less the exact same players at his disposal that RDZ had?

Yes . He did - but the point I was trying to make (badly I guess) was that Potter , however much he’s not some people’s cup of tea , might have benefitted from a decent squad cos he er , himself coached them well and made em better players.
Well yes, he benefitted, but he could have never achieved what RDZ did.
