Its a very strange set up they have there. I'm surprised it's lasted as long as it has in this climate. Very continental feel to it, with the majority of seats outside. Do you drink there often then? I haven't been there myself for a long while. Try and avoid the city centre as much as possible if I can to be honest!

I drink there if I am off on a Friday and I meet the Mrs from work, I used to go to the Beer tasting once a month but they changed the night. Yes its a bit of an odd place. Think its seen as a bit of a hip hangout. Thats why its survived.

Yeah i know what you mean. I used to frequent it a fair bit in my trendy student days. Didn't know they did beer tasting though. i'll have to look out for that.

This is technically my closest -

The Burrell Arms, Haywards Heath

However, my actual local, as in the one I go to all the time:

The Stand Up Inn, Lindfield

Was my local when it was The Linden Tree

The left one is where I grew up and now have the occasional drink with Eric Potts.
The middle is five seconds from my front door.
The right is where I go to drink Harveys and Timmermans Frambroise!

No real pubs, the closet thing I have is plastic paddy place. It truly is awful, decent fish and chips though. No bars really sell a decent drink, just a bunch of American adjunct lagers filled with desperate/drunks/sluts.

The Viaduct, Hanwell. Not the actual nearest, but the nearest pub that both a) serves nice beer and food; and b) is unlikely to be the venue for the kicking-in of my head.
