Possible Murray Replacement

I don't think Murray will actually leave.
But if he does, i'd be fairly happy to see Andy Bishop take his place.
Good player, obviously, but not proven at this level. Would be an interesting prospect though.
We should be after Jemal Johnson from MK Dons to replace Muzza if he leaves. Can play striker or LW, scores goals, pacey and out of contract.

And not good enough to be a regular with MK last year.
No thanks.

Jemal Johnson is 10 times the player Mark Wright is and 3 or 4 years younger.
Di Matteo obviously is losing it a bit if he is letting players like Johnson, Navarro, Regan etc go and signing players like Jabo Ibehre and nobodies that have been released from Wycombe and Crewe.

Do you think any of our players are good enough to have been regulars with the franchise last season!?

Good solid goalscorer and would be a better replacement for Murray than say Bret Pittman.

Ok then seeing as he is losing it maybe when he inevitably gets the sack you should apply for his job seeing as you know a good player when you see one. I agree a great replacement for Murray as he was so prolific with MK with 10 goals in 70 games.

What are you on about? For starters, the players they have signed from Crewe and Wycombe were both offered new deals and turned them down. Also, from what I know of Jemal Johnson he plays on the wing mainly and as his goalscoring record isn't great would not be a replacement for Murray.

As for the thread, I hope we are looking for another striker even if Murray stays. Both Forster and Murray missed big parts of last season through injury while Craig Davies is not proven yet (although I think he will do well this year) and Harty is not prolific so is better used on the wing I think. That leaves limited options.

I agree we should be looking at League 2. We can't afford/attract the top strikers in our league so players like Bishop, Le Fondre etc seem logical players to try to attract.

Bishop is a great player - I used to watch him when he was at York. Very good goal ratio and also good at bringing in other players ( a la Murray). Just noticed he did a stint at Yeovil too

I think it was rumoured but Carlisle don't have any money because nobody seems to want Danny Graham and they seem to need the compensation for him to buy a replacement.

Definately wouldnt want Jemal Johnson to replace Murray, he hasnt scored more than 5 league goals in a season ever???
Bishop would be ok, and so would Le fondre, but i think Danny Graham would be a really good signing if we could get him to move down south. Last two seasons has hit 15 goals, and he had 13 this season by christmas so is proven at this level. Still quite young, but i think the challenge would be persuading him to move down here.

I agree that Johnson shouldn't be brought in as a replacement for Murray but I still think he would be an excellent signing if done on merit. He has impressed me whenever I've seen him play.

Bradley Wright Phillips would be great as long as we have strong padlocks on the lockers

If we have money, I would prefer a bid for Jason Puncheon. He was great for MK Dons at the end of last season and would provide real quality on the wing.

However, the encouraging thing so far is that other than Dicker (who was obvious from the start) we have gone about our business very quietly and efficiently and bought players of quality but also not ones people predicted. I hope to see a couple more next week after Slade's comments.

If we can bring him in as a left winger then he would be a good signing, but i dont know enough about him as to whether he can play there or not. If he is brought in as a striker if Murray stays, to be honest i would rather have Davies than Johnson.

Seconded, Puncheon in both games was absolutely class. I think we could easily tempt Plymouth into selling as he hasnt featured too reguarly, but think there would be other teams interested. Then again, championship clubs were after Tunnicliffe, so who knows!
