The biggest problem and unfortunately I cannot see an answer to it other than automatic relegation to Div 2, is that somebody will buy Portsmouth and Crystal Palace for pennies, be clear of debts and then be able to pump in a couple of million, as per Southampton and be back where they started in a matter of a couple of seasons at the worst. In Portsmouth's case it is even more laughable because it is the Premier Leagues parachute payments that will buy the new owners promotion back to the premiership.

If they are a new company then they should start afresh in the Hants county league.

That would be good if the Fa stoppped a club in administartion selling their league registration and they had to start from scratch as AFC Wimbledon have, I know its not the same or indeed Aldershot have.

By the seaside in West Somerset
sounds good to me

(although I can't help myself thinking "what if we had hit the financial brick wall that Dick Knight so skillfully kept us clear of"?)

It still amazes me that the football authorities can INSIST that football debts are settled first when it is the law
of the land that HMRC are preferential creditors.

They haven't been automatic preferred creditors since 2003, the law has changed.
