Pork Pies - Would they survive a 24-hour flight ?

How about rolling the freezer bag and food into one neat solution? Freeze some of the pork pies - say four of the twelve (having wrapped them individually in foil) - then pack them en mass with the unfrozen in a zip top polythene bag. The frozen ones will keep the unfrozen ones cool and will be defrosted by the time you have finished the unfrozen ones.

Et voila.

Full of fat no good for you whatsoever.

What on earth has that got to do with anything?

Pork Pies are THE one thing that I really miss here. Saffers don't eat them 'cos they don't like the jelly - what a bunch of girls!

Pork Pie and Scotch Egg with a small salad on the side - perfectly healthy and the supper of the Gods!

The truth, people deserve the truth about pork pies.

I saw on Sky 3 the other day some documentary of Australias border controls, one of those fly on the wall things and some dim Brit got fined 5,000 australian dollars for trying to smuggle in a pack of garibaldis.

Pork Pie Update

Great advice regarding the small cool packs . Looks like pigs will fly !
Happened to be over at Holmbush at M & S this morning and popped into Tesco's next door .
Found the perfect bag for £1.50 that will snugly fit 2 x 6-packs of the luverlies .
Confident it can do the job without the need of an ice-pack .

Just to reiterate a few points that seem to of been missed ;
1 - These are mini pork pies and consuming a dozen over a 24-hour period isn't really that large an amount .
2 - I am going to eat them on the plane , I've no intention of taking them in to Australia - Customs won't let the little porkers in .

I now have another dilemma regarding the mustard .
I bought a 50g tube .
Is it classed as a liquid or paste ?
Is 50g of mustard below the 100ml liquid limit ?

Great responses from all so far , keep 'em coming .

Pretty sure 50g will be fine. There is no distinction between liquids and pastes - both covered by the same thing. So long as you put the tube in a clear bag to go through security, you should be fine.

Then you know the truth

Are they part of the Illuminati? Is there a giant pork pie factory in Southwick Tunnel, with Aliens lacing them with some sort of mind control drug, so that they can take over the world?

What I know is that they are made with the bits of pig that would otherwise not be used and that they are BLOODY NICE!

Places like Australia and the US have strict rules on what food stuffs you can / cannot take
The US can be fairly strict on what they will allow in. Fortunately there are a few good shops catering for expats in NYC. One of them, Myers of Keswick, was where I met Graham Moseley who was in New York. He’s a lovely fella, he was stocking up on Scotch Eggs and Steak and Kidney Pies, but he was more than happy to talk about the FA Cup Final and his subsequent career at Cardiff. Tis indeed a small world.

Isn't it bloody freezing in the hold of an aeroplane? I'd pack them in your hold luggage, you may be tempted to eat them if you put them in your hold baggage, airline food is mostly shit...too tempting on a 24 hour flight.
