I have just donated £50 to this fund to help our great local rivals survive as a club. Would hate to see them go into oblivion.
I am not looking for a pat on the back, so I would appreciate it if the local idiot brigade would treat this post with respect.
In no way does it lessen my support for the Albion, whom I have loyally supported since 1948.
This could have, and nearly was us a few years back.
I know that this amount will not save them, but it would be great if some of you felt the same as me.

Good post, but there's a lot here that want them liquidated, so it won't be a popular view...

Shame that they don't appear to have a Samrah, Hart or Attila to stick a rocket up their arses to get out there and make their disgust at what's happened to them heard

They really don't seem to be doing much to help themselves! It's very very very hard to feel much sympathy as most of them seem to be delusional

There's a few that take The News up Langleys way. I see the Council have put in a loan of £1.4 Million to help the Supporters Trust Fund out.
People should remember......... be nice to people on your way up, as you might meet them on the way down!

Well I'm not going to have a go because its your money and you have, of course, absolute freedom what you do with it.

However have you really thought through the consequences. If the Portsmouth trust fail to take over your £50 comes to nothing. If they do take over your £50 will go into the pocket of the multi-millionaire who is currently trying to suck the very last drop of money out of the club.

If it was me I would wait until its absolutely certain that the Trust are in firm control, (they are supposed to be getting a £1.4million loan from the Council after all), and that the money would be used to take the club in a very different direction, one that stops them spending money they don't have would be a good start. Mind you it doesn't look too likely at the moment with Appleton poised to sign a player reportedly on a wage of £5,000 per week when the average for a 1st division club is around £2k. Your £50 will no doubt pay for half an hour of his time at the club.

Anyway I'm sure all the small business in Portsmouth who have been shafted 3 times will applaud you, but as they say, its your dosh, spend it as you like.

You'd have been better donating to Harbour Cancer Trust and Faith to name just a few who would appreciate a reduction of monies owed by that mob first!

If they hadn't royally taken the piss by going out & signing several £20k a week players while already in administration, then I'd have thought about it for at least a second.

And then I'd have laughed at my own stupidity and purchased another Amex pie.

Sorry, but so far the Pompey fans reaction to their plight has been pathetic. Can't see they have put in anywhere near the amount of effort we did or indeed Plymouth. So they'll get chuff all from me.

If they needed 1p to survive i wouldn't give it to that lot, maybe donating £50 to the charity's they fleeced is a better option.

Perhaps the donation would have been better made to help all the local businesses and services that have gone under because of PFC, the painting contractors, cleaning & maintenance firms, lives wrecked because of the greed & folly of a football club whose owners & supporters lapped up the glory without a second thought to the cost.

It's incredibly sad, but it is completely self inflicted. It's a great gesture you have made to fellow fans, but the tragedy really is those that will never be paid for their hard honest work.

You should have given it to the charities that Pompey owe money to.
