Not really news and no big surprise either. As the likes of 'Mighty' Leeds, Saints, and Palace have had last minute rescues you have to say it's a bit doubtful that this would be the end of Pompey but has been said many times in the past sometime a 'big' club will go to the wall. Pompey are hardly a team likely get much sympathy though.

How long until administration and the 10 point deduction that follows? Hope it's enough to send them down.

What with this and the Redknapp trial, it's beginning to look like the City of Portsmouth has registered itself as one of these offshore tax havens.

Cayman Islands, BVIs, Monaco, Jersey, Switzerland, Pompey. Save with us, boys, we'll say no more, nudge nudge wink wink...

Where is NSC's resident expert on Pompey @EdnaKrabappel for an informed comment?

Thing is there will always be a Portsmouth FC.

Ok it may be a phoenix club like Aldershot or AFC Wimbledon and have to start all over again but f*** THEM its about time an example was made of them. There will still be a team to support just maybe not in the football league.

I think you mean "rosie"

:lolol:

Nobody has confirmed in all this whether Rosie is still alive. I think we should know.

It could have been worse. Imagine if he'd named the account "Sandra69"

Although might I suggest that they don't name their bank accounts with the name of their pet dog, even HMRC can connect those dots :)

Whilst Portsmouth continue to employ players on big wages (they even spent £1.5 million on a player in August) they will get no sympathy in relation to their financial troubles.

They don't seem to be trying too hard to gather cash to pay off the tax bill.

BBC Sport - Portsmouth reject second Ipswich bid for Joel Ward and Jason Pearce

Screw them.

Its genuinely quite staggering isn't it ?

"At the minute it would be ridiculous to get rid of players, especially if we can't bring any new ones in." - Michael Appleton

Just incredible head-in-the-sand stuff. How can they possibly justify turning these bids down in their current circumstances ?

I can recall us being forced to (reluctantly) sell Mark Beeney to Leeds for about £400k to stave off a winding up order from the Inland Revenue. Realistically they've got a week to raise this £1.6m, so any thoughts of turning down bids should have gone out the window.

What it it with Pompey ? They never seem to think the rules apply to them. PLEASE get this club wound up once and for all for christs sake. Its beyond a joke now.
