Dean Hammond penalty. Looks good enough. But I've seen another of his penalties and I am not convinced he would be any better than Barnes.

Bruno, or Bridge. Dennis Irwin and David Unsworth were two fullbacks who scored bags of penalties in their time

Why didn't Barnes do his short run up? It gives me kittens but the less time Barnes has to think the better he is.

CMS for me. I always like it to be the striker as the extra goals give them more confidence in open play. I'd also make him practise them again and again. Penalties are so important, the goalies and penalty takers should make it a regular part of training.

It needs to be someone who you can depend on being on the pitch for most matches and playing the full 90 - so I have gone for Bruno.

He can smash the ball - which I would prefer rather than the weak sidefoot which Barnes & CMS favour. I can see Bruno being like Ray Stewart of West ham & that Burnley lad (Alexander ?) who took the back of the net out each time.:goal:

I have voted based on who was on the pitch at the time yesterday and went for Hammond who was Southampton no 2 if Lambert on the pitch and I don't think that he missed one. Did he not take them for us when with us previously. Barnes should be about no 6 in the order of preference..

Bruno for me. I think the others are so inconsistent in their ball striking, Dobbie does strike a good ball as well. CMS and Barnes have both scuffed penalties, Orlandi's delivery on corners was poor yesterday, though he did play well.

Reckon Bruno would strike it like Ray Stewart used to for West Ham.

Leon knight(no he's not alright, he's a turd) said that you shouldn't be a pressional footballer if you can't hit the target from 12 yards. That's probably the most sensible thing he's ever said....

That's the same Leon Knight who only had one style of penalty with the stutter. Once it had been seen on tv, he didn't score many more as keepers knew to wait.

We need to find two. I wanted two choices. Dobbie and Bridge. Right now we need to find three. The third one would be Sparrow*, fourth one would be Calderón. So we need a fifth one. Still thinking. I prefer Barnes to Macca .... (*probably would be first choice if in the team)

After watching video, change mind with vote...

Need Calderon on the pitch, in case there is a penalty to be taken , his penalty take was pure class!

Just like his warm-ups on the pitch

I have just discovered that Boggles has a reputation for diving to the right or left at penalties. Maybe that is why Barnes hit it down the middle. Hindsight, says it might have been one for Macca, not that I recommend smashing the ball down the middle.

But I do not think the goalkeeper should really dictate how the penalty is taken. Hard into the corner along the ground, or bouncing just before the line or high into the roof of the net, hard. Only way.

I don't know why on earth we keep changing it, players miss penalties ! It happens no matter who's taking the penalty. I think Hammond or Buckley personally.

Had to smile when I read the Argus this morning. Gus says he wants David, Dobbie or Vicente to take them. Maybe an idea to pick someone who's actually going to be on the pitch I'd have thought.

Someone capable of kicking a rebound into the OPPOSITE corner from where he kicked the penalty.

Are you new to watching the Albion, then?

Hammond took about a dozen penalties for us in his first spell, and was a great penalty taker.

Does Bridcutt not want them? He seems to me to be the 'coolest' player on the pitch, and he is also the first name on the team sheet. It would make sense for him to take them.
