Dont worry about that the Romanians are doing us proud with their smuggling.......................

My mate once brought back an ounce back from Holland hidden in a Kinder Egg which was rammed up his arse.................................. and it wasnt even Easter.
Your mate sound like a right tosser. What was he doing only smuggling in an ounce? He could have got 6 ounces stuffed into a kinder egg FFS!

Tell him to try again; only this time with a Christmas pudding. In mid July.

Without an export/import licence................. are you mad.

bollocks.

they may have some exemption from VAT in the past and when here as a tourist, but as Poland is member of EU thats doesnt work any more. council relief is only to students and single mothers and probably few other groups, certainly not to able bodied worker of any nationality.

Well, I was trying to put it slightly more politely and to tease nibble into revealing where he 'learnt' this nugget of information from.

But you're spot on.

It will not, of course, stop the bnp and their friends spreading this little lie as if it is true.

I was looking into this a while ago, CAT does a course on making it, and I'm fairly sure the 2,500 limit relates to manufacture so if you were to use it direct then it may fall outside the scope of the legislation. No doubt they'll say you paid no duty though and as the legislation allows you to manufacture duty free they may get you on that.

Hrm.

Not intending to do it, my car runs funny on Tesco diesel let alone anything else. Been to the CAT a few times, my dad heads over every few years - even have a CAT mousemat here. Which used to be a car tyre. Apparently.

I'm going on a few years ago when Poles used to have an exemption card to use on taxable goods, this is when I worked in fraud prevention, we had a lot of faked cards. To be fair I haven't worked in that line for a good few years so will happily accept if my info is out of date.

I'm not so sure that they don't get relief on council tax but cannot find any info to post which backs it up, just again going from work I did a few years back. I'm no longer in that industry and don't keep up to date.

Certainly did not mean it as a BNP style lie. I despise the BNP and all they stand for.

You have to admit that Polish workers are far superior to their English counterparts. We are employing 2 at this very moment who work their nuts off for 35 squid a day. We dont even encourage them to stop for tea breaks, because they are quite happy to carry on labouring whilst they eat their sarnies. We employed a couple of students last week and they were dire, they expected proper breaks, did not understand the meaning of hard work and thought we were exploiting them. Right stroppy gits - what sort of degrees are media studies and sociology anyway.

eastern european workers are great.

So long as you remember singing their praises when your kids can't find work and when they do it's for the minimum wage.

Exemption cards ceased to be valid 01/01/2004 for Poles.

thats what the germans said as they slaughtered them in 1939

Nope, what the Germans actually said was: "I can't believe how brave the Poles are, and how doggedly they resist." Then they stopped shooting and allowed the Poles to collect and treat their wounded.

The Free Polish air squadrons flying with the RAF had the best combat record in the Battle of Britain.

But that's all sixty years ago. Having worked with the Poles far more recently, I'd say they made solid, professional troops. And that's actual soldiers, not keyboard warriors...

Makes sense, that would be about 18 months after I left my fraud/loss prevention position. You see what happens when I am not around to keep an eye on things!
