Can you imagine it? The Police could easily have restored order had they deployed horses, dogs tazers etc, but because they chose less confrontational tactics, despite undoubted provocation from the usual rag tag of spoilt brats, there was more chance of them "losing" it, as you put it. I am sure that you would have much preferred it, had they clubbed a few of the rag tags then it could all have been filmed on their expensive mobiles, and been used as "proof" of police brutality, with the inevitable widening of the situation to blame the government , who must have been behind it all. Then an enquiry would obviously have been needed for the next year or so.
