I love all these diktats people are giving though. No-one should be allowed to do this, no-one should be allowed to say that, no-one should be allowed out unless X, Y or Z. Anyone tried to tell me what to do then I think I might just boo them.

Exactly, God forbid should you be able to think for yourself! Suppose thats Socialism for you :jester: anyway...

Personally if I want to f***ing boo him I will. On the other hand I may not. Depends what mood I'm in on the day.

But I tell you one thing I wont give a TOSS who thinks what on NSC.

Why would anyone want to boo Murray over a headline on a sky sports website? Unless I've missed something in the last hour nothing has been put in the public domain to suggest that this is a real story. Also Murray is out of contract at the end of the season so he can do what he likes.

However on saturday I want him to score the goals that win us the title. He's been brilliant this season and deserves our thanks.

I'm glad thats atleast one person who hasn't completely lost it! Top post

And what is this confidence of yours based upon? Is it beyond the realms of possibility that someone here does actually know?

The fact that we only just mathmatically confirmed safety last night, thus it's highly unlikely that A> New contract has already been signed within the last 5 hours or so AND B> The press have been notified. AND the fact that the people who we know ARE "in the know" on this thread have admitted that they don't know of anything concrete yet.

Anyway, this is a bizarre line of questioning, the people who are talking about booing him are basing it on the Sky Sports story.

Murray has been here a few years now and has scored plenty of goals for us. IF he was to sign for Palace instead of us because they made him a better offer then good luck to the bloke. As has been said before he is a professional not Brighton fan and needs to earn what he can from a short career.

The Journo that wrote the story has said Gus and Tony have known about this long before today and that they know what they are doing.

Promotion last night is irrelevant to any contract negotiations. It's well known that contract negotiations have been going on for some time. Poyet admitted this ages ago. Therefore his agent would have been involved and would also have notified other clubs.

Murray is still under contract with Brighton so of course he hasn't signed any new contract elsewhere. No-one claimed he had signed yet. Therefore, I fail completely to see the relevance of point 'A'.

Point 'B' - Other clubs have been free to offer him alternative contracts since Murray and Brighton opened up discussions. It seems his agent has chosen to reveal to the press the outcome now. Why now? I don't know - perhaps it puts Murray in the shop window as a winner. I fail to see how last night's game would have decreased the chances of this story leaking.

Point 'C' (?) - re. the 'people in the know' - this presupposes that all the people who might know whether or not Murray is going have declared themselves publicly on this thread or indeed read this thread. Not every Albion fan posts on NSC, not every NSCer reveals all the secrets they know about the club and there's something else...but I went back and edited a bit that was confusing and now I've forgotten.

Anyway, the general gist is that I don't think your confidence is based on secure logical foundations. And now I've spilt tea all over me. Not having a good afternoon.

So based on Freedman denying all knowledge of this, what are all these people 'in the know' saying in response ?

Maybe I should become a journalist, can make money, by writing any old shit with no substance to it

Boring. The point is people booing him over unsubstantiated rumours is a STUPID thing to do. That can be agreed.

If Glenn wants to sign for Palace then it's up to him, if people want to boo him then they can do so, they seemed happy to do it at Brentford a few seasons ago when full of RIGHTEOUS INDIGNATION because he did not 'respect' them when his marital difficulties were public knowledge.

Personally, I think that anyone who was applauding and cheering him last night and now decides to give him grief on Saturday, is a fickle, hypocritical, spastic.......actually I take that back, they are just fickle hyprocrites, (apologies to all with cerebral palsy BTW)

We have a chance to WIN THE LEAGUE, and instead a number on here are providing visiting Palace fans with one of the most amusing days of their lives, as our joy of promotion into seething hatred of Muzza. They must be wetting themselves on the Palace board.

You couldn't make it up. It's unbelievable. Now Freedman has come out and made them all look like complete cretins, that all happened quicker than I thought. Good. Now we can move on.

All booing would do is drive him there.

Where? CPFC aren't interested and have said they couldn't afford him anyway...

I am staggered that anyone going on Saturday wants to do anything other than support the team and encourage them to win the league, with a potential record points total in the club's history in the offing. But.......it's a free country, and I trust that if Muzza scores the winning goal they will not applaud, or celebrate the trophy that the team so richly deserve for this season's efforts. It could be like the NF supporters who used to exclude the goals scored by John Barnes when he played for England, on the grounds that he was, well, you know, a bit of a ....

They must be wetting themselves on the Palace board.

Sometimes journalists like to shit stir to wind people up when they should be having a good time.

On 21st May 1983 the back page of the Argus featured an article about John Bond taking over as Albion manager. This was published an HOUR after we had played in the FA Cup final. John Vinnicombe, the Albion reporter at the time, harboured a grudge against some at the club, (it was probably a two way issue), and so decided to spike our finest hour.

Why on earth Muzza would sign for Palace when they have a (albeit remote) chance of relegation back to League 1 next season is beyond me. Why shouldn't he wait until the end of the season, Millwall, another one of his alleged admirers, may go up via the play-offs and give him a punt in the Prem, so he would be insane doing anything right now.
