After looking at the wall chart we'll be playing a third placed team from groups A C or D (if we win group) in Paris next Saturday , so possibly Romania,N Ireland or Czech Republic
Not sure of the permutations but they're the likely teams we could face, Maybe this could provoke another one of those drawn out permutations threads
Hope we top group be great watching England play on a sunny Saturday afternoon at 5pm, get the BBQ's out and lots of all day drinking, 2nd we play on Monday night :-(

If we win the group, could be a serious BBQ p**s up next weekend

I'm praying we top it as I have Quarter Final tickets for winner of the group. Don't fancy watching Wales.

Wiki shows that winner of group B is almost certain to play 3rd in A or D, Romania or Czech Republic as currently stand. There is only one scenario where winner group B plays 3rd in C.

Problem then might then lie, if Czech Republic beat Turkey and Spain beat Croatia. It wouldn't be good to get Croatia in the next round

The first decent team we play will beat us. Our defence, Cahill and Hart in particular look like rabbits caught in the headlights every time the game moves in their direction. We play some decent stuff going forward at times but our defence seems to revert to conference standard in these big competitions. Hart must be the worst regular goalkeeper England have ever had.
Goalkeeper and center backs was always our strong suit, but not any more. Apart from that eveything is rosy.

Don't be so negative, we will just have to score more then.

Just checking but you saw Robinson, James and Green right?

Not being negative pal, just honest. We are pretty poor and have been for years. We do ok in qualifying against mediocre sides but as soon as we meet someone half decent we struggle.

Albania are not likely to make it with GD -2 in which case England almost certainly will face Group D 3rd placers, likely Czech Republic. Skalak really could line up against us.

NI will almost certainly face France if they finish 3rd.

Playing on foreign soil, the first decent team has beaten us every time in the history of the Euros and the WC.

But we have to break the duck at some point, Eddie Jones pulled it off in Melbourne so why not...

Be happy to play Czech Republic on Saturday, did well to pull it back to 2-2 V Croatia but looked a very average side

Fair point, but Hart is certainly no better than any of them. At some point he will get caught in no man's land as lyrics by The Clash spin round in his head.

Great shot stopper though, normally.
