One of the things I noticed last night was that we are no longer 'plucky' little Brighton from the Withdean, we are a championship club in 10th place on a good run of form. No concessions just 2 teams playing for a place in the next round and this for me is why Sevenside Gulls rating are very intelligent(even if you don't necessarily agree with them). if a neutral had watched the match and didn't know who the teams were, they would say that it was a well balanced open game which Newcastle should have won however brighton took the rare chance and won the game. Warnock, Barnes and Strachan respect the fact that we are becoming a proper team and were a little bit lucky on the night. Waddle is a total bellend though and is even less intelligent then Gascgoine!!!!!!

Fair enough - excellent critique Acker79

I probably do tend to mark low (if only to compensate for some of the more ebullient spirits on here). I don't get a Sunday paper but it would be interesting to see how they have rated us

Sunday Times:
Brez 7
Calderon 6
Greer 7
Dunk 7
ElAbd 6
Buckley 7
Bridcutt 7
Sparrow 6 (Navarro 5)
JFC 6
CMS 6
Barnes 6
Very low in my opinion, particularly Buckley and Bridcutt.

Crawley (different reporter of course): one 9; eight 8s; two 7s!

Thanks for that

I marked Brez, Calderon, Dunk,Bridcutt, Buckley, CMS, Barnes (7) the same as The Times
I marked Greer, Sparrow, JFC (3) too low by one point
I marked elAbd, Navarro (2) too high by one point

All in, although it means nothing in the scheme of things, I think that is reasonably accurate when, as an earlier poster said, you mark us alongside Newcastle as equals rather than starting with the premise that we are underdogs (which is why Crawley will have been given higher marks because they playedout of their skins against clearly technically superior opposition)

Sunday Times:
Brez 7 7
Calderon 6 6
Greer 7 6
Dunk 7 7
ElAbd 6 7
Buckley 7 7
Bridcutt 7 7
Sparrow 6 5 (Navarro 5) 6
JFC 6 5
CMS 6 6
Barnes 6 6
Very low in my opinion, particularly Buckley and Bridcutt.

Crawley (different reporter of course): one 9; eight 8s; two 7s!
