Brez 7
Calde 6

Greer 9
El Bad 7

JFC 5 (occassion got to him - good learning experience)
Bridcutt 9
Buckley 9
CMS 7
Barnes 7
Navs 6.5

Hoskins 7

Some relative negativity there against Brez, El Abd, CMS & Sparrow; and the snide anagram of Adam's name.
CMS, Brez & El Abd had fantastic games against a top PL outfit.

I'm not sure why people are having a go at Harley. Ok he lost the ball once and he bottled a challenge near ther penalty area, but otherwise he kept the ball and was nice and tidy. He was better than JFC.

More sheep-like ratings on NSC

Brez 8 - Did everything he needed to
Calde 7 - Struggled at the start but looked more composed later on
Dunk 9 - Outstanding
Greer 9 - As above
El Bad 8 - Kept Ben Arfa quiet and wound Best up a treat
Spaz 7 - Busy first half - assuming injury forced him off as he said on his twitter he hopes to be ok on Tues
JFC 6 - Not as good as in previous games, will learn from this
Bridcutt 9 - Brilliant
Buckley 9 - Looked dangerous every time he got the ball
CMS 7 - Worked tirelessly as usual
Barnes 8 - Did a great job defensively, and linked up play well
Navs 7 - Didnt do anything wrong
Harley 7 - Pulled out of a challenge, but some tidy passes after that
Hoskins - Not on long enough

Brezovan 8 Two great saves to keep it 0-0, rest of his game was regular level stuff.

Calderon 7 beaten too easily in the first half.
Greer 8 supported calderon, handled Ameobi and Best well enough.
Dunk 8 got forward with the ball plenty of times, handled ameobi and best well enough
El Abd 7.5 Did well in the full back role, didn't get as far forward as regular full backs do.

Bridcutt 8 did a good job controlling midfield
Sparrow 8 like bridcutt, also made some good tackles and is growing in confidence with each game
JFC 7 Not a great game, he seemed to constantly pass the ball behind Barnes, and not with much better accuracy for others, and ignored him from a throw in when he was in space on the edge of the box, but he's young and perhaps we should expect a consistently high standard from him in every game he plays.

Barnes 8 Dropped back to fill in at left back when the defence shifted to the right to help calderon deal with the attacks that kept coming down that side, played some good passes forward
Buckley 9 made a good number of forward runs, constantly causing trouble. It's been a while since a player has excited me as much as buckley. I can't decide if he should be praised for trying to set up CMS from the similar run just after his goal, or criticised for not taking the shot himself. Was an OG, but he deserves the plaudits for making it happen.
CMS 7.75 ... 7.5 feels too low for the effort he put in and the effectiveness of his running (sometimes it seems like the running achieves nothing, but today he was hustling and rushing their players), but 8 feels to high for his wayward efforts, and his general lack of confidence in front of goal.

Navarro 7.5 slotted in well
Harley 7 he seems unable to turn on the spot, needing to run around in a circle to try to face another direction, but not that bad a performance.
Hoskins - only on for 4 minutes, but his holding up of the ball and the professional way in particular he, barnes, and harley closed out the final minutes.

A collective 10 out of 10 for everybody.did everything that was asked of them & some.but what impressed me the most was the composure they showed to see the game out.

Apart from the defence and Buckley I thought we were very average today, but it was a great result.

Are you an idiot you think we played average and beat the team 6th in the premiership what would we do in your world if we played for me , great perform all round

Just this one time I feel as if I was watching a different game. Great day to e an Albion fan but in all truth we were not quite world beaters today

Brez 7 was, in my view, excellent doing all that was asked of him
Calde 6 struggled occassionally but less so than he sometimes has and all-in-all had a very reasonable game against top class opposition. Covers across the back line which I think is sometimes not noticed. Loving the hands behind the back routine
Greer 6 beaten for height by Ameobi almost every time the ball came across high but his positioning allowed him to do enough to cope with the mismatch and his game on the ground was as solid as ever
Dunk 7 beaten by Best badly for their first chance and cross shot and like Greer he found Ameobi's height and experience difficult but his passing has come on beyond anything I ever expected
elAbd 7 his role in the goal spoke volumes for me. Good positioning made up for lack of pace although he was caught out a couple of times. Great wind-up merchant and I still think Cabaye should have been sent off for the petulant flick of his foot
JFC 5 not his game but a massive ask to go up against Premiership midfield and he didn't disgrace himself by any means. Learning from every game
Sparrow 5 some promising aspects and was not going to let them over-run us but guessing he got a knock - booking was fair enough but no morethan a yellow as he had one leg tucked in and grounded
Bridcutt 7 tireless with some good passes - the best of a midfield that did well not to allow themselves to be overshadowed
Barnes 6 thought he did really well covering the left side and stopping them from pushing forward down that side.He is showing signs of increasing maturity - oh and yes it was a pen in the 92nd minute but he earned his luck IMO
CMS 6 ran his socks off as always but apart from one shot that brought a good save from Krul his best work was a couple of tackles chasing back and spoiling. Went to the far corner flag when he knew he was going to be subbed and legitimately killed valuable time getting back to halfway to come off
Buckley 7 great pace and strength on the goal and earlier he got into the box a couple of times - hard to fault his willingness to emulate CMS in covering every blade of grass

subs:

Navs 6 did a good job of harrying and covering space to prevent them taking control in the way they wanted
Harley 6 he lost the ball once but otherwise he made the right choices in the time he was on and helped us to push forward after we scored instead of regressing to our worst habit of sitting too deep
Hoskins n/r glad to see him on the pitch

Overall I thought Newcastle poor and lacking in imagination. Pardew seemed to have set up to not lose and his players couldn't change their mindset to take advantage when they had the bulk of possession and should have taken a real grip on the game - more high balls into the box would have seriously hurt us as we really struggled against Ameobi's nous and height and Best's positional play but thankfully they didn't seem to think they were going to score even if they had been out there til midnight. Ben Arfa with the exception of one pass was truly abysmal and Cabaye (that fit of petulance was a red card offence and John Barnes is an idiot for trying to justify it) and Guthrie seemed to sit too deep and lack the ability to decide to push into spaces where they could potentially have hurt us more.

Overall I thought we didn't pass to our best and we hit too many long balls without direction but having said that we are starting to mix our play more which makes us a little less predictable. We gave the ball away a few times in silly places and although I thought our defence, especially in the middle, struggled at times, we made up for it with committment. Not many sides at our level could hope to pass the ball out of defence as consistently as we do and we don't get fazed under pressure, Cut out the unforced errors and we are desperately close in my view to being a useful side. Add more of a cutting edge to bring CMS into the game and we could be surprise challengers.

You've given an average score of 6.23 for a Championship team beating a 6th in the Premiership side with all the gulf in money/facilities/etc etc etc that involves.

You either don't get to see us much (I'd like to see your ratings for us against Forest at home when we were lucky to scrape a win against a side in the bottom three) or you only watched the highlights on ITV.

Wow!!

Brez 8. Couple of great stops. Distribution needs to improve, but we now do not need another goalie.

Calderon 7. Made me nervous on a couple of occasions, but otherwise solid.

Greer 8. Rock solid

Dunk 9. Cool and calm. Passing sublime at times.

ElAbd 8. Surprised what a really good game he had. I though full back was not his position.

Buckley 9. What a player. His speed is amazing. Couple of misplaced passes, but a great goal.

Bridcutt 9. Superb game.

Sparrow 8. Great game. Presume he was subbed because of the booking?

JFC 7. Sometimes the other players failed to read his passes. And knocked off the ball a little too easily.

Barnes 8. Worked hard. Defended well. Improving again.

CMS 7. Needs to work on controlling the ball better. Too many times his first/second touch let him down. But great running as always.

Sub:
Navarro 8. Did nothing wrong and in well.

Harley 6. Needs to tackle more ferociously and stop pussy-footing around.

Crowd 10!!!
Christ those are rather high marks for an average performance, buckley deserves a 8 or 9 and the rest 6 or 7 at best:)
