Henderson 7 One key save in the first half and excellent distribution, some hesitant moments although very rare

OGH 7 box to box stuff - a revelation in his new role
Butters 7 Mr reliable
McShane 9 The crucial edge at the back and amazing that he is now our joint leading scorer for the season, which sums up his desire and team ethic
Reid 6 Solid work

Carole 7 Should have done better with that second half shot but a lively creative spark on the flank without being at his absolute best
Oatway 9 Utterly dominant performance, eased pressure off every team mate with his passing and his defensive work, set up two chances for Knight and Carole
Carpenter 7 Looked really good before his cruel injury
Hammond 6 A few stray passes but better than in in recent games

Knight 6 Missed a glorious chance early on and wasn't quite at his best tonight
Robinson 7 Tireless runner and stretched the Palace defence frequently, a joy for our midfield to aim at as he was always available

Frutos 7 Very promising hardworking stint on the flanks, more in keeping with the needs of the team right now than Albert's flair.
Kazim-Richards 6 Still gallingly gets on the wrong side of refs too often, needs more discipline in his game

Looks like a solid performance all round, not surprisingly.

Think Jarrett may be better deployed as a sub in games we need to turn around. Would be a great option to use late on with his pace and direct style.

Possibly a little OTT, given how poor Palace were, but to a large extent we made they that poor - superb work-rate & organisation from all.

Henderson 8 Great save to deny Hughes at a crucial time. Looked veruy composed and I've not seen a better keeper for his distribution. I love Blayney but Hend edges him on last nights game.
OGH 7.5 Gave everything and snuffed out Reich
Butters 7.5 Steady as always and dominated in the air. I love it when that big left peg of his takes aim
McShane 9 World class performance and deserved his goal. Love it if we could sign him but the boy deserves to play in the Premiership.
Reid 7 Like Hart was out of poition but you wouldn't know it. Got forward well in 1st half

Carole 7 Great work out of him even though he can play better. Carved open the Palace defence a couple of times and covered well when we needed him
Oatway 8 He was made this game and didn't let anybody down
Carpenter 7 Unlucky to get caught by Soares but looked good while he was on
Hammond 7 Passed it well and won a lot in the air - Good tactics by Mcghee to stiffen our midfield

Knight 7 He ran his heart out and I was gutted when he skied his chance but thats why he is playing for us and not in the Premiership
Robinson 7.5 The boy became a man tonight and worked tirelessly to shut down the defence
Frutos 7 Did well when he came on but wish he could have ran at their defence a bit more when he han the chance
Kazim-Richards 6 Ran at their defence and held the ball up OK

Mcghee - 8 Got tactics spot on tonight and very impressed with the spirit of the boys.

Henderson 8 I only recall one minor flap. Otherwise, didn't too anything wrong. Not overly tested though.

OGH 7.5 a revelation in his new role, and will improve when he can read the long attacking ball over his shoulder.
Butters 8 Impressive command of his back 4. Cool distribution when required.
McShane 9.5. Magnificent performance. If only we had a ground and some money...
Reid 7 Impressed with the way he stuck to the task
Carole 9 I thought he was excellent. His ability to trap a 50 yard pass time and again meant our midfield had time to gather possession when we would otherwise be hussled off the ball. And he ran their left back ragged from the start.
Oatway 9 An awsome performance. Unlucky not to be MoM
Carpenter 7.5 Was running the show before going off
Hammond 6.5 Performed his defensive duties very well, but mishit too many passes from promising positions
Knight 7 Worked hard all game, but missed a glorious chance and was occassionally caught in possession
Robinson 8 Agree with LI, but I'm not as harsh on his mark out of 10!
Frutos 7. Good hardworking performance
Kazim-Richards 6.5 I like him. He looks like he could be on threshhold of being a very important player for us.

Falmer, soon...
Difficult to disagree with any of the above. Have to say I do really like the look of Frutos, I think he'll definitely be one to watch.

What's happened to Hammond though? The number of games catching up with him?

Still young and developing, we have to be careful not to expect the earth too quickly. Let's face it, you waste 4 glaring chances in 4 key games, that is going to affect any footballer's confidence, particularly in a team that is struggling. McGhee did the right thing yesterday, put him back on the left, take a bit of responsibility off his shoulders, allow him to get forward without the pressure on his mind of protecting the back 4. I'm willing to bet he'll start scoring again very soon now and look a different player again.
