Doolan 8 - I like him. Looks like a new Danny Cullip. Exactly what we need for the rest of the season.

Really!! While it may have been his first game I thought he looked incredibly limited at this level. His positional sense and reading of the play was poor and he let his man go far too often, was beaten in the air many times and gave away too many fouls. I would be extremely worried about Dolan facing the likes of Connolly, Harewood, Bent etc and our chances of survival based upon this.

Yes, I can see how an EAR problem can affect how fast you can RUN. :jester:

Toad, we're going a bit round in circles here. Last week, in order to get Leon playing up front, you advocated not playing Virgs there.

But you seem to have changed your mind on that now and are backing McGhee's judgement on Virgs as a striker?

Now you are in favour of dropping Big Mac from the team to get what you want. As Big Mac has done in the past to others on this board, I think Big Mac will be handing out more portions of humble pie to his critics before this season is over.

I simply want to see a Leon/big man partnership ... both McCammon and Virgo have their merits - I do recognise Virgs' ability as a striker, but I rate his defensive qualities that much higher.

If McGhee will play three at the back, I would want Virgo there and McCammon up-front. If he persists with this formation, I'd currently choose Virgs over the big man.

I can't guarantee I won't change my mind - obviously form is a concern for all players.

That's because on yesterday's evidence, a half-fit Big Mac does contribute more to the team than McPhee.

McGhee should have reacted quicker to what Adams did with Adebola and Benjamin. Those subs changed the game and we should have done something to counter them.

I would have been in favour of settling for a point, bringing the exhausted Big Mac off and bringing Nicolas on for a 4-5-1 with Virgs the sole outlet up front as we did with Sunderland/McCammon. We then could have strengthened a tiring midfield and Nicolas might have helped us keep possession better.

I cannot agree with Point 1. When McPhee came on he created 2 chances straight away. He's not the answer but playing with McCammon was like playing with 10 men. McCammon may be a good long term signing but not when he is half fit. He shouldn't be anywhere near the team at present. I have never slagged a player off with a loud voice when our team is playing since Mark Farrington. I did Saturday with McCammon which says it all - Frustrating took over.

Your spot on re Adebola & Benjamin. We were done tactically but seeing as Adams signing the majority of those players we need not be surprised. I was screaming for a sub at 75 min anything to enable us to keep possesion for longer than 30 seconds - McGhee reacted too slowly.

Coventry will not go down of that I have no doubt with Adams at the helm.

Exactly the same for me. I know people were looking round when I was slagging him off, but it couldn't be helped. He was absolutely useless.

If you're talking about Albion players then you might be surprised to learn that only ONE of the team that started yesterday was signed by Adams - Charlie Oatway. People really need to lety go of this 'Adams's team' idea. We've had FOUR managers since he left.
