Brezovan - 7 - commanded well, did not have enough saves to make to get any higher than a 7
Calderon - 7.5 - good game, solid in defence, good going forward
Elphick - 7.5 - did well against physical forwards
El-Abd - 6.5 - could of scored, but you dont expect him too, solid
Painter - 6 - not his best tonight
Bennett - 7 - good set-pieces, but no one turned them to goals
Crofts - 6.5 - did ok
Navarro 6 - gave possession away too often
Dicker - 7 - very good first half, faded in the 2nd
Lua-Lua - 6.5 - did not get the balls he wanted
Murray - 2 - yet again he prooves he is not worth 300k, he ducked when a cross came in.. would be a 1 but he came close with a header and he did a dummy, but that somes him up, a dummy.

Holroyd - not much impact

Not sure how Murray only warrants a 2 in your scoring system, but I suspect that you would never be happy with him and are probably one of the fans that have tried to get rid of him since he joined (in other words someone who knows very little about football)

Brezovan - 7 - very good handling (for once) but his kicking is still absolute pony. I'm still not confident when its up our end though
Calderon - 7 - looked great on the overlap again but was caught out of position defensively a couple of times
Elphick - 8 - best game he's had all season I thought, he won a lot in the air, kept their tanks up front quiet and ran his socks off into the corners covering for the full backs. And he didn't lump it unless it was last resort either. Back to his best??
El-Abd - 6 - maybe should have scored, think it was a little ahead of him to be honest like he didn't expect it to get to him. Got spun a couple of times though
Painter - 6 - seen better, he gave it away quite a lot, but defensively got stuck in and kept the shape pretty well
Bennett - 7 - he got marked out of the game a bit in open play, but dynamite delivery from set plays
Crofts - 6 - the usual, put himself about, I've noticed he wins a lot in the air for a relatively short guy, but perhaps a bit quiet by his standards
Navarro 5 - passing was a bit shit but he covered ok in front of the back 4 and does look to give the side balance
Dicker - 6 - the source of everything creative in the 1st half but got frustrated when things got narrower in the 2nd half and they played without bypassing the midfield altogether
Lua-Lua - 6 - on the couple of occasions he got space to run at them he ran their full backs ragged, but same old story, no final ball
Murray - 6 - ran himself into the ground and should take a pregnancy test the number of times he got mounted by their huge oaf at the back, but went down easily a few times and didn't seem to release the ball when he had time. He's had better games.

Holroyd - 5 - not much time to make an impact but a couple of good runs in the channel and every time I see him I think he looks to have a very good footballing brain.

Ref - 6 - bit pedantic first half but didn't notice him especially. Half decent penalty shout for us when Murray went down in the last 15 though.
Colchester - 4 - how they're 4th I don't know. Shit pitch, empty ground, shit players, humped it long like it was a javelin contest, truly dogshite. Looked better when Gillespie and Lisbie came on to run the channels with 15m to go but still wasn't overly concerned by their attacks.

Head and shoulders the best player summary and ratings so far. I'd go along with all of that, but possibly a 6 for Navarro

Well impressed-if Albion can play passing football on a shittip sandpit like that the Gus must be the chosen one. Can't understand the negativity about Brez.Think we have a defence that works now, instead of relying on Michel to dig them out.Still think Glenda is a bit lightweight as he fell over when the wind changed direction:lolol:Maybe we could sign him a bodyguard from Col!Against a team that have only dropped a few points at home all season,Albion should have won this, easily:thumbsup:

guess i'm the only one that thought navarro was quality:shrug:

Nope, I thought he was good also, not many people notice what he does but if you watch the game closely the number of times he wins the ball from the opposition in dangerous areas is quite surprising.

DON - Nobody hates Murray but he was poor tonight.

top Drawer: el abd, calderon and elphick - brilliant, top clas

middle drawer: brezovan commanding, navarro smart at snuffing out.

Well done: dicker, crofts - great energy, we look good with this pair.

others, well done.

except: murray, lightweight, why? why? why?

team and gus, well done, continuing a great run and looking better than anything we are put up against.

And Brighton Rock is a Palace fan! (I think, only 8 posts?)

Anyway going back to the ratings given so far tonight!

We drew against a a top 4 team which we could have easily won tonight!

NO ONE DESERVED LESS THAN 5 TONIGHT! (imo no one should really have scored less than 6) Let's get real!

I would like to add that I am feeling very comfortable with Brez! Shot stopper AND he can kick!

Some people are just so blinkered in their view of football, some of the comments about Murray are ridiculous.

I bet if we had a big lump up front who put himself about and won a few headers, but didn't get a sniff at goal, the same people would be giving him 6's and 7's out of ten.

My view from my Sky anorak shed: we were better than them. They were mostly bigger ( and uglier ) than us.Their "support" was at home watching Liverpool getting beaten.Theiir pitch is an absolute disgrace...........half expected Mr Cantona to come out with a beach football team.

Could've won this.

Bennett-5- Poor from set-pieces, barely skinned anyone (maybe due to the

Whilst it wasn't Bennett's best game for beating player's one on one (as it wasn't for anyone due to a slow, sandy, shit pitch) his ball's into the box (especially from free kicks) were superb tonight. I really can't believe we have a young player with so much potential and whilst he has alot to learn his dead ball ability is exceptional in my opinion.

Brezovan - 8 Claimed lots of crosses and commanded his area well. Also made a great save in the first half.

Calderon - 7 Sound as always, made a few good runs forward.

Elphick - 9 Superb all night. Looked composed against a very physical colchester attack and performed well. Very pleased with him recently.

El-Abd - 7 Good game again for him. Got beaten in the first half and was let off by a good save by Brez but overall did a hard job well.

Painter - 7 Standard solid defence. Shocking long shot though! lol No wonder he has never scored a league goal!

Bennett - 7 Great from set plays and the odd run. Was held back by the tricky surface but did ok in the circumstances.

Crofts - 6 Did ok but didn't really create very much. Bad miss from a header, should have got it on target.

Dicker - 7 Worked hard. Kept ball well and passed it around.

Navarro - 7 As above

Lua Lua - 6 Not his best game. Couldn't use his pace on such a poor pitch. Few times he got into good positions he wasted it.

Murray - 5 Fell over too easily. Missed 3/4 good chances and generally had a poor game. I know its hard up front on your own and that it must be frustrating but his booking was foolish. Very talented but there's a reason why we have a striker with 9 yellow cards thing season. Needs to be more professional at times.

Holroyd - 7 Ran around alot and gave us some much needed second half energy. Looks comfortable on the ball but can improve positionally. This is where Murray is superb. Shame he couldn't finish tonight!!
