I can't see why steele would get such a high mark. If he hadn't have ****ed up, we wouldn't have got as far as the penalties. white can be fleet of foot for a defender, but he seems very slow of thought once he gets to the final third. trossard, stop trying to showboat and instead choose a pass to a blue shirt. Bernardo. he's like a left footed defending cms and falls over.
County did their homework and defended deep. There was no room for anyone to cut into the channels. Against citah there will be.....shame we won't have the ball to exploit it
Forgot to mention tau. There's something about him which I like. Oh yeah, he's not afraid to shoot

Yeh

Did you hear their manager yelling, "defend the line" at the full back, forcing Solly in particular infield and backwards.

They approached it very similarly to Southampton did against us and nullified our threat from wide

If a striker misses 2 shots then scores on the third he's a hero. Keeper misses 2 but then pulls of a series of saves which win the game then he is he a) hero b) villain. He redeemed his errors with his penalty saves.... and some other good work in my opinion. Certainly ahead of Maupay, Ali J, Trossard , Mac Allister.

Good test of ability to adapt. Well done Dunk, Webster, March, Bissouma with decent efforts from Steele (barring injury time), Gross and newbies Zequiri and Tau. Safe to say most of the others wouldn't have been professional footballers in the 70's.

I dont like 3 at back. One of 3 always seems to spend most of time at full back. Yesterday was White. Dont understand why we are one of very few sides that persevere with this.. Yesterday reminded me of Sheffield game when every long ball we looked in trouble. Duffy as a footballer not a patch on what we have now but defence though not as pretty looked a lot more secure

You might not like 3 at the back but, then again, we played a back 4 yesterday.

Controversially, I thought Mac Allister was just starting to influence the game when he was subbed.

I always struggle with those that think a penalty hit off-target (there were two last night) is superior to one hit on target

Depends if one was a pea roller, that had such limited pace it gave the goalie time to adjust.

In the case of Trossard and Maupay both equally poor IMO.

Disagree again. I'll mark you down in the anti-Trossard camp until proven otherwise.
It might be worth listing our attacking players goals and assists to performances/number of minutes played. Trossard will look good within this.
That said, he is a frustrating player, and very inconsistent but most players of his type (ie flair/creative/wingers/wide forwards/number 10s) are, particularly when away from the upper reaches of the top leagues.

Not if you compare them on a like for like basis with others....

I’ll put you in the blind adulation camp [emoji2]
