Today he just sort of wondered around and looked as if he was completely confused with he going ons around him. Think he was meant to be in mid.

FFS! I'm beginning to wonder if the relationship between Adams and Virgo is more than just platonic. Maybe he was only playing in midfield because of Thomson's virus.

What's the truth behind the - "Virgo will always play" - quote ?

Did MA actually say that or words to that effect, or was that just dodgy reporting ?

Does seem as if he will indeed always play so far.

I'm confused.

Starting a revolution from my bed
Kuipers - 7

Whing - 5 Should be dropped next game, Virgo should be playing there and stay there
Elphick - 7
Hawkins - 7
Richards- 6

Livermore - 6.5
Fraser - 6
El-Abd -6

Anyinsah - 6
Virgo - 5 Not his fault - Adams needs to stop moving him around, you cant expect him to play 3 differnt position in one game

Murray 7 - Second goal was impressive.

I heard it, I can't fully recall it. It was something along the lines of him being undroppable and that MA will always find a place for him in the side.

I can fully understand - "first name on team sheet" - sentiments about certain players.

But to claim someone is undroppable is a very dangerous thing, at any level of the game.

And no, the above are not quite the same thing.

Especially when he is not the best player at the club in his preferred position. Adams definitely has his favourites. Hawkins is another. Robinson, Cox, Lynch and Livermore do not seems to float his boat.

Words fail me. A bloke who scores two goals and got caught offside two or three times gets a f***ing 6. Literally laughable. You're on a wind up, right?

Well personally I didn't think he had a great game. One of his goals was from the penalty spot (well taken though) and the goal in injury time was very good but he's a striker that's what he's in the team for to score goals. He fluffed a couple of other chances and didn't contribute too much in my view. Not that it was all his fault, he didn't get any service and Virgo (who started up front alongside him) was having a stinker.

To me a 6 means he had an average game. What was your score then? Were you even there? Several others have marked him higher so maybe I have missed something but that was my opinion. If your opinion was different post your own ratings.

Kuipers 8 - Apart from the last goal he kept us in the game
Whing 6 - Did ok
Hawkins 6 - Slipped a number of times, as did a few players - a problem with studs?
Elphick 8 - Was very solid as usual
Richards 6 - Looked a little shaky
Fraser 7 - In the first half looked really up for it, faded in the 2nd
Livermore 6.5 - Average
El Abd 6 - Hardly saw him all game
Ayinsah 7 - Looked our most dangerous player until taken off
Virgo 5 - Just didnt look right at all up front, and even when moved wasnt in the game - one with the virus perhaps?
Murray 7.5 - Good pen and a superb goal for what looked like the winner, worked hard (First time I have seen him this season, and I am sorry, how can he be called lazy?!)
Subs: Cox 5 - Woeful distribution
Forster 6 - Thought he was going to nick it when he was clean through and felt more confident we could score with him on the pitch
Thornton 6.5 - Nice free kick, and a couple of great runs through the middle (JUST what we need) - but when playing out wide just didnt appear to be involved...

I didnt think we played particularly well, but i saw signs of positivity. Murray bagging a brace can only be good for his confidence, which has been sorely lacking recently.

I think Adams should stop trying to play players when they are patently unfit (Virgo/Hawkins) - yes, I know we have a small squad, but he could have pushed Anyinsah up front and had Cox on the wing, and put El Abd at the back with Loft in the middle (or even Thornton) - From what I have heard on here, it appears that was a problem at the Scunthorpe game (Hawkins again) and I think it has been prevalent in other games too with McLeod and Forster.

Completely agree with that. :)

Really don't it Virgo has a good game at centre back in mid week only to get to Saturday moved up front with Hawkins straight back in the team. Getting to be a bit of a joke now, bet he is back in midfield next week meaning someone else gets dropped

It's especially funny since Forster "played ok, almost scored". Apart from that all he did was get caught offside once other than that not even in the game. The double standards are ridiculous. It was only thanks to a class goal that Murray that we drew rather than lost a match in which we were distantly second best.

Don't know why we took Fraser off for an attacking player in Thornton at 1-0.

that was f***ing ridiculous

a midfield blatantly set out to stop the opposition scoring, so when we go 1-0 up we decide to stick on one of our only attack minded players. madness

Kuipers - 6 - good first half, but total cock-up for second goal
Whing - 6 - generally steady
Elphick - 8 - immense
Hawkins - 4 - rubbish, cock-up for first goal
Richards - 6 - decent enough
Fraser - 3 - embarrassing set pieces, doesn't contribute anything offensively.
Livermore - 7 - tidy
El-abd - 5 - quiet
Anyinsah - 7 - lively
Murray - 9 - worked hard, played nice football, took a good penalty and scored a SCREAMER. can't ask for more than that
Virgo - 4 - gave the ball away at every opportunity.

kuipers - 6. would have lost if it wasnt for him. not good enough for the second
whing - 3. worst game ive seen him have. the amount of times in the second half they were able to attack freely down our right was sickening
elphick - 7. dealt with bayo pretty well
hawkins - 4. doesnt look at all fit. which would suggest he is another undroppable
richards - 6. solid
fraser - 5. average performance
livermore - 6. good to see him in the middle of the park
el-abd - 5. see fraser
anyinsha - 6. worked hard enough, didnt really create much
murray - 7. second goal was a cracker
virgo - 4. no idea where he was supposed to be playing or what role he was meant to be doing

On the other hand sitting back trying to defend a 1-0 lead is always dangerous (and it looked like they were going to equalise all through the 2nd half). At least by putting on Thornton we had the option to attack from midfield. They do say attack is the best form of defence.
Had his free kick not hit the bar it would have been viewed as a great substitution.

...and on that note wasn't it nice to FINALLY have a player that appears to know how to take a free kick?
