Tough one.
Benno was immense up until January, but has only really rediscovered that same form in the past couple of games.
Murray's work rate has been as vital as his goals.
Painter has been Mr consistant at the back.
Calde although not at his best defensively at times has chipped in with some very important goals.
El-Abd has been a rock.
Casper has been dependable and calming.

Is still can't decide.

Murray's way out front for me with Benno and El Abd battling for second. Honourable mention for Kish.

El Abd has grown well and Murray has done well but Bridcutt is a genius - and our best player he sweeps so well and always finds a good pass - and hes so young, just wait till he gets a bit older!

4 stand out candidates for me

Bennett for first half of season
Bridcutt since xmas

But for the overall season it's 1. Murray
2. El Abd
3. Bridcutt/Bennett

For me it was always a toss up between Bridcutt, Dicker and El Abd ... I've gone for Dicker as I believe he has been the lynchpin

I think some people are being influenced too much by recent form, given that Bridcutt is getting more mentions and votes then Bennett. Bridcutt has been excellent but it's only in the second half of the season that he's nailed down a starting place.

Can't believe Bennett only has 4 votes! But then I suppose football is very fickle and people have short memories. It's player of the season, not player of the last two months!
Good points. I'm going to change my mind (said I would!) and go for Painter instead.

If Greer and El Abd came together I'd vote for them as tuesday proved El Abd's not the same without Greer. Bridcutt for me though, he'll be brilliant next season.

Who would have thought at the start of the season that Barnes would score 16 goals at the age of 22 and not even get 1 vote on pots!

I'm AMAZED benno has less than Bridcutt so far.

Don't get me wrong, Bridcutt has been fantastic since the turn of the year, but Bennett was really the catalyst along with Lua Lua to our excellent start to the season IMO. Yes, he's had a little drop (but only from his HIGH HIGH standard) but he's played 40 to Bridcutt's 27 or so and has been a massive influence throughout the season.

Set pieces, defensive work, goals, assists, playing wide and behind the strikers. Remember that FC United away game? Yes they were lower league, but the commentators were waxing lyrical about his performance.

Again, taking NOTHING away from LB as he has been awesome.

Voted Bennett.

Could have easily made a case for any of Murray, Bridcutt, El Abd or Greer, tthough.

I think Bennett would have walked this if he hadn't slapped in a transfer request. He was EVERYONE'S golden boy until then
