So hard to pick, but I have gone for Murray because out of him, El Abd and Bennett, if one of them was missing, we seem to be able to cope better without Bennett or El Abd. Murray out, we seem to lack an attacking edge, and are not as good at defending set pieces. Obviously the 21 goals speak for themselves, but he is much more than that

That is a good point. When Murray has been out of the team we have looked proper GOAL-shy.

Adam El-Abd. In making the choice, the 'improvement' and 'transformation' are irrelevant (I also think Murray is the most improved, not El-Abd). He has been the best and most consistent for the whole season.
Murray, while scoring an impressive 21, ought to have had 41, considering the excellent service he has been receiving.
Bennett went off the boil in January and February.
Bridcutt, though improving all the time, has had too many iffy games.

While all superb this season, for the jobs they are tasked to do, I feel Adam has done his better and more consistently than others doing theirs.

I agree he should've scored more, but also, scoring goals isn't even the main part of his game, which is why for me he is PotY by a long way. Massive team player.

41! What rubbish. But then we've already had this discussion, haven't we. :)

Agree with you re: Adam's consistency though, he had to wait until tuesday before putting a below par half of football.

Hey, what about Gary Dicker?:tantrum: hardly getting a mention. Virtually ever-present, our real creative force, incredible vision with some passes that other players can only dream of (interspersed with some horrific moments of being caught in posession )

Murray - has been awesome but was not consistent enough in the first half of the season. He misses too many headers. That said, his all-round play is awesome and he has scored 21 goals!

Bennett - stupid amount of assists, a few goals, went off the rails a little bit for about a month but overall has been awesome.

Bridcutt - consistent, very rarely gives the ball away, awesome interceptions, couple of cracking goals.

El-Abd - has been very consistent, and is clearly most improved, but I'm not sure he has been the best player.

Greer - rock at the back, leads the team well, plays some awesome balls from the back, but has had a couple of needless red cards which could have cost us.

Dicker - has great vision and plays some awesome balls, and so links the midfield and attack well. Perhaps should have a couple more goals.

Calderon - generally has been very good at the back, and has pushed on well and scored 7 goals!

I can't choose.

My favourite player.

Brilliant - in a Frank Worthington style - when on form; nightmare horrific - in a Frank Spencer style - when off-form.

I think some people are being influenced too much by recent form, given that Bridcutt is getting more mentions and votes then Bennett. Bridcutt has been excellent but it's only in the second half of the season that he's nailed down a starting place.

could of gone to any 5 players but i choose Ankergren as i felt hes has been fantastic all season only 1 or 2 bad games and i feel hes been our best gk for along time as kuipers made to many bad mistakes for me when he was with us

Can't believe Bennett only has 4 votes! But then I suppose football is very fickle and people have short memories. It's player of the season, not player of the last two months!

Murray - He misses too many headers.

Genuinely can't think of a better "winner of headers" outside of the Premiership. Probably the best part of his entire game.

Suprised not to see Painter getting more votes, for me he is the most consistent player in our side. Never seen him have a bad game, very solid at the back, and helps out going forward too, top player in my opinion and certainly won't look out of place in the Championship. Can't really argue with Murray and El-Abd running away with it though

El Abd has been my player of the year all season, i almost switched to Glenn Murray but feel El Abd deserves it.
This year there have been so many and the most consistent player has to be Marcos Painter who never seems to have a below average game, Ankergren has been brilliant after a shaky start,Bennett is absolute quality and hope we can keep hold of him for next season.
Bridcutt has looked the best player on the pitch during a lot of games and you could mention about ten different contenders its been so good.

Does the winner still get a portable tv from rediffusion?

What I mean by that is chances in the box. He misses too many of them I feel. I've seen Gus get annoyed by that on the sidelines as well.
