How could any real fan not want to go to that?
Yeah right! like every sth from withdean last yr that ive been going with who didnt go! in fact the only people i know who went were eastbourne boro supporters and bton fans who hardly went to withdean at all. Spurs is sold out, donny will be and this is without any tickets going on proper general sale.

Yes, there will be less of a demand for seats if/when we hit a rough patch but the club cant progress or take the risk of thinking its better to be sold out at 22k and lose the revenue if we are doing well than to expand, of course they should, the first real crap season in the future and yes attendances might be 14k in a 30k seater stadium but id rather they did that than lose out on the potential, any other thinking is just not business sense and doesnt show ambition.

I would be inclined to agree with you if my season ticket wasn't such a good deal... £20 a match, spread over 12 monthly payments (£38)... against a match day ticket price of £28 and booking fees. If I went to 15 games it would cost me more than my STH.

Why the f*** are we fishing, you can already take your pick of games at the very opening of the stadium as a casual fan, and why would we add 8000 seats NOW when we do it only when it's needed, and potentionally save ourselves a white elephant if say we don't go up and Poyet leaves.

Fine.. if you want to pay the same for a random seat at 15 games (with little or no chance at any BIG home cup tie) as I do for the whole season, with a seat of my choice, and a guaranteed shot at any BIG cup games.. good luck to you.

In fact it is probably less than 15 games, because the only seats you can buy are more expensive ones in the corner of East Stand lower.

And don't you think Tony Bloom could attract a decent manager to replace Gus, if or when that happens?

On NSC for over two decades...
... you still havn't explained the 7000 attendance for the first EVER game at the stadium? How could any real fan not want to go to that?

Because it was a reserve match and I had better things to do that day. Still, now I know that I'm not a real fan do you think the club will refund the money I've forked out on season tickets since 1999?

To be fair though 95% of casual fans would have purchased a ticket at some point in the last half dozen years.

I don't believe that, the figure is probably much below 95%.

Non-STH are going to be weighted towards the most casual fans, long distance fans and people that had no interest in Withdean and been waiting patiently for the Amex. Of those:

a) how many have avoided Withdean in the last 3 years (I believe 3 was the requirement)?
b) gone to the odd away game but paid on the gate? Attended the odd home game through a ticket not bought by the club as they didn't have a membership?

Much more than 5% I'd say. We heard plenty of stories on here of people being turned away at the ticket office for a Donny ticket or not being able to buy tickets for themselves or others online. Not exactly a 'general sale' is it if you require a recent purchase history.

In lower demand fixtures a truely open general sale (and greater public awareness as to the availablity of tickets) should maintain a strong upkeep of general sales.

NO YOU CAN NOT - fucks sake man did you miss the comments about TICKETS ON SALE TO THOSE WITH A PURCHASE HISTORY FROM THE CLUB?? ?? ??

ANYONE who isn't a COMPLETE JCL will have purchased a ticket in the past. CASUAL FANS WILL HAVE PURCHASED TICKETS IN THE PAST.

I really don't know what you have against me, but really just grow up, your arguments never, ever make any sense.

I didn't bother trying to get a ticket for the Donny game for a number of reasons
A) thought i would have no chance
B) they didn't go on sale in time for me to organise cheap flights, two weeks before flying the prices are pretty much as high as they are going to get, and i wasn't going to pay for flights on the off chance that i could get a ticket.
C) They went on sale the day after i got back from Portugal, finances are squeezed to say the least.

Having said that a mate of mine phoned me yesterday to say he had got me a ticket, so i am now trying to find a way to get down that is reasonably priced and doesn't involve sitting on a bus for about 15 hours.

On the subject of purchase history, i only have two games in the last 3 years that were through the club, and i have been to many many away games, it just isn't normally necessary to book in advance, so i bet there are plenty like me that have no purchase history, if i hadn't gone to Villa or Walsall i wouldn't have any and even Walsall i could have got potg in the end.

I guarantee we would fill the ground regularly if we got promoted.

I am sure the club could still use a tarpaulin over the corner seats if we don't sell out in this league. No harm in having extra seats as and when needed.

And that is a MASSIVE if isn't it? And MP has said that we could get it done in a summer, assuming we already had permisson, so by all means stick in the application now, but as I said on the very first page, it would be unneccesarry to act on it now, and potentionally be a bit harmful.

-We are not selling out matches rapidly, anyone who wanted tickets to any game so far could have recieved them.
-Adding extra seats would cost money, and would add to the match day costs.
-Having 8000 empty seats would damage the atmosphere, it was widely agreed on here we would rather have a smaller, more filled stadium.
-Many people purchased season tickets on the presumption it would be the only way to guarentee a ticket, add 8000 seats and that wont be the case in this league, so season ticket renewals could fall.
-There is a lot of hype surrounding the club, we should let this settle down, look at our attendances and then make the decision on whether to expand.

Now then, who wants to argue all those points just for the sake of disagreeing with me?

Cant be bothered, you're a cock. Honestly never felt so wound up by someone in a forum in my life. JCL this, JCL that, blah blah. You're good at getting a bite out of me I'll give you that, whether you do it on purpose or you're just naturally moronic I don't know, I really can't even begin to explain so I'll leave it there...

I'm a cock, but you can't give a reason... You're a f***ing idiot you really are, I said casual fan, casual fans will have had a purchase history, it isn't my fault you are so blinkered by your childish little rage you couldn't even reach the end of my post before pressing that reply button to try and call me out on something I corrected just 5 words later.

You're an idiot, not my fault.

Someone who has not bought a single ticket from the club in 3 years, i.e. has not attended a single match in 3 years, IS a JCL.

I went and I've been a season ticket holder at Withdean since 2000.

I quite agree with you Snorfy, I just can't understand this sort of attitude

So you want us to be like darlington, with a massive white elephant of a stadium? Why didn't we just rebuild wembley on the edge of brighton? Go read my comments above.

Classic, so you completely ignore the entire point of this thread to come in and laugh at a typo, how the f*** did you get to be a moderator?

I didn't. You chose to ignore post 62... which was my response to the 'entire point of this thread'.

I like laughing at typos, it helps me get through the day.

And being a moderator is a duty rather than a privilege.

I am not disagreeing with the points you have made, but I was wondering if the stadium was going to be used for other social events apart from football which may require the additional 8000 seats, (e.g. concerts).

There are too many unanswered questions as the club have not been in the position before as it is all new so wait and see would be a sensible approach.

There is no harm putting the application in and then adding the seats as and when. Start with corners in the home end, followed by corners in the away end. These must be the simplest. Then if we hit the Premiership, do the East Stand second tier.
