Bethnal Green.

Actually enjoyed living there as a student.

Went back about 20 years after I left and it was nothing like I remembered.

Complete s'hole now. The only thing unchanged was my favourite kebab shop was still there.

Will never go back.

Cheshire Cat

The most curious thing..
Yeading/Hayes - completely anonymous west London suburb. Pubs were awful.

Standish, bloody marvellous as a 20 something on sporting tour!
You must have been easily pleased (or pulled). I lived in Wigan for three years and have no desire to see it again.

Cheshire Cat

The most curious thing..
Outskirts of Liverpool - a place called Cantril Farm, know to locals as Cannibal Farm. While there we were burgled, had our dustbin pinched, disturbed someone trying to burgle us and had a stolen car driven into the side of our house. This was the time of the Liverpool riots, the dead being left unburied (strike by the council workers) and Derek Hatton and his pals took over.
Oddly enough it was good fun in some ways...........................and the footie team could play a bit, until they came unstuck against us in the Cup at Anfield.
It's now called Stockbridge Village in a desperate attempt to rebrand it. It is still an utter sh!thole full of violent thieves, unemployable druggies and alchoholics.

Think it's a bit rich people on here slagging off Brum, when they come from a part of the world with dumps like Newhaven and Seaford in it!Places where people have learned their personal hygiene from the French, and swim in their own sewage! The sooner global warming sinks both places, the better:whistle:

Luton lived for 3 years, less said the better about the place, but still had lots of good memories and laughs and lots and lots of stories lol. Not a dull place to be around for sure.

That's a bit rich slagging off Newhaven and Seaford (granted they are a bit on the grim side), but Birmingham has to be the world's biggest motorway service station

Coventry. 'Nuff said.

Leyton. Paid £20 a week for a room in a shared house on the High Road, mid 80s. Got teargassed in our local!

Or anywhere else in League 1, hopefully.

PG

Leyton is alright at least it was in the early 90's when i went to UEL

Brighton

In summary

Dirty, full of beggars, students and graffiti, expensive to park, 20mph limits, cars persecuted in favour of buses and bikes.

So somewhere is made safer for children and other pedestrians and cuts the speed limit to stop scumbags driving at 60mph down the seafront , and also has two very highly regarded Universities both of which produce many much needed Drs and Nurses
And that deems it a shithole does it ??

Far superior smell than sewage and diesel at high and low tides in Newhaven-is that lovely chimney still chucking pollution everywhere?
Here's a nice picture for you-5 minutes walk from my house. blakes.jpg
