We're away on the gig date otherwise this would have been a cracker - gutted. What with Adam Ant playing a stormer at the Concorde a while back it's as if the last few decades never happened! Anger is an energy and all that.

I'm back stage to meet god

This deity being the man guilty of the biggest sell out ever when he stooped as low as to do shit butter TV adverts? How exactly does he reconcile that with the whole punk ethos?

Personally, i think the greatest band to come out of the punk era was the Stranglers by some distance. They had the attitude but crucially they they were very competent musicians who wrote some cracking songs.

Due to overwhelming demand PiL have added a 2nd night at Brighton. August 16th is completely sold-out due to pre-sale, however a 2nd night has been added for August 15th

The good old concorde 2. Not seeing this gig but it's always worth keeping an eye on the listings. If it wasn't for the C2 I would have missed out on a lot of bands live. On of the best venues for miles.

Agree. Lost count of the number of times I have been there to watch live bands. Last time was Wild Beasts and next will be War on Drugs. Interesting that what were once big names in music - Bob Geldof/Mel C and Toyah have not sold out.

Ditto. Seen all sorts of bands and DJs there over the years. Saw the Misfits there only the other week in fact. Great venue and normally a great and up for it crowd.

Dont know much about The Misfits except they have been around a while. Will have to investigate. The only problem with the concorde is the sound at the back. I try and get as close to front as is possible.

To answer your first point, In September 2009 it was announced that PiL would reform for five UK shows, their first live appearance in 17 years. Lydon financed the reunion using money he earned doing a UK TV commercial for Country Life butter. "The money that I earned from that has now gone completely – lock stock and barrel – into reforming PiL",said Lydon.

The Stranglers, were around well before punk and IMHO would have made it without Punk as the likes of DrFeelgood and eddie and the hot rods and that pub rock scene sort of did.

Oh and I got a ticket to the C2 as well.
