Always a tricky one one a non-resident in position of influence speaks out in a controversial subject. Plenty do in this country and the first thing people do is chuck the foreigner card at them and to some extent I agree. If you can't vote in said country then don't abuse your position as a guest-worker. That includes you Piers! Especially if there's any remote chance they'd send him back to us!

The trouble with a lot of Americans is that they imagine the United States Constitution to be the ONLY basis for civilised government.

the other trouble is that they cant fathom the purpose was as a replacment to a standing army, which they didnt have nor want at the time. with thier military now, the 2nd amendment is redundant.

Leg out of the bed
In Bowling for Columbine, Michael Moore is standing on a riverbank. He tells us it is a US riverbank, and that there were 1756 (?) gun killings that year in the USA, where there is the right to carry guns. He points across the river, which is Canada, where they also have the right to carry guns, and tells us there were 6 gun killings the previous year...

Now shirley this would show it is the *mentality* to use guns to settle arguments and commit crime etc. that is prevalent in the US, and not so in Canada?

The wholesale banning of guns is a chicken-and-egg circular argument, and tbh, I can see some validity in the argument that guns in schools, operated by trained personnel, would be a counter measure to these madmen who go to those places and kill at will

...not watched the video but wasn't the second amendment was written when US citizens were armed with muskets that took 3 minutes reload after each shot.

Not really transferable to a country in love with automatic assault weapons!

In London village.
The Second Amendment does of course talk about a well regulated militia - something the NRA and it's gun selling sponsors choose to ignore.

That said the high rate of gun murder in the US is probably as much to do with the obscene disparities of wealth and poverty and the general dog eat dog nature of that country as much as their lax gun control.

I found it embarrassing watching Morgan resorting to butting in and personal insults when things didn't go his way. Not surprising from a former editor of the Sun, with their oh so correct journalistic practices

Hither (sometimes Thither)
You'd think the uzi-wielding imbeciles of the US wouldn't waste time signing a petition - just as they don't when looking to legitimately (more than not) elect a new leader. More likely to have their opinion on the matter sent by mule or vulture, the body of a possum in a sack of which one eye unplucked means YES and two bloody holes where eyes once dwelt meaning NO THANK YOU.

Morgan is a twat and still has a few questions to answer in respect of Levison but in this he is correct. Unfortunately too many Americans were brought up on the fantasy world of Hollywood cowboys and indians.

I must have missed Morgan's reign as editor of the Sun. When was it?
