I have Tony Grealish's actual shirt from the final and can confirm the red and White Pin stripes.
I have tried to provide a link for some pics but need 25 posts !
Will go and leave some short replies on other threads and return shortly !

Likewise, I have the very rare Cup Final shirt too (bought it on eBay for £230!) Definitely red and white pinstripes, although the red is less visible once the shirt becomes sweaty. Here's Gary Stevens' shirt on display in an exhibition...

I remember seeing Stevens c/f shirt in Brighton museum a few years back, did you loan it to them?
Or did you buy it more recently?
£230.00 is a bargain IMO

I got mine more recently. I was shocked to see it on eBay. There were all the little details that told me it was genuine, such as the pinstripes running through the circle of the badge, the curved 'FA Cup Final' text under the badge and the plain white V-neck collar. I don't think the seller realised how rare it was. Is yours made out of cotton or polyester?

That's a relief, because mine's made out of cotton too. I always assumed that it would have been made out of polyester! How did you acquire Tony Grealish's shirt?

After the final the team went out to the States.
Grealish apparently gave the shirt to a fan in a bar over there and a friend of mine who has now sadly passed away managed to track this guy down and buy it off him.
When the museum opens at Falmer I have agreed to loan it out for display.

I can't have been the only one bemoaning the fact that we didn't wear the blue and white stripes in the FA Cup final. The all-blue (ok, technically pinstripe) strips were awful.

Super marketing the Beeb wouldn't let shirt sponsors kits on the air in those days, so we flew in the air in our shirt sponsors helicopter. Which if I remember wasn't owned by BCAL anyway.

The Cup Final kit was a unique one-off.

This is starting to make me wonder which player's shirt It is that I've got.....

I stand corrected on the pinstripes for the cup final shirt...

As for the quality of the PB shirts from 83-85, I wore mine so much that the arm pits became frayed and by the end of the 84-85 season I just had a holey shirt with the phoenix brewery sponsor print(which was in those days proper 3D felt!) nearly falling off!!!

Are you sure its a players shirt as I remember the replicas being sold in the club shop at that time were also made of cotton and not polyester.

No, I'm not certain it's a player's shirt as I don't know its origin. Could have been some extras that Adidas put out for the squad.

What number is on the back? Shouldn't be too hard to work out!

Ahhhh... My brain's not all working this morning. Thank you. The shirt has no number on the back which clearly indicated it was not a match worn shirt. The shirt is in very good condition so it's not like the number wore off.

I'm very intrigued by the idea that the club had the Cup Final shirt as a replica for sale in the club shop. Video footage of the time in the lead up to the Cup Final and the updates about stock in the match day programme appear to suggest the club went from selling the old plain blue shirt to the Phoenix Brewery sponsored shirt. Certainly, if it was available, it was not sold in a high quantity as not many have seen light of day. They'd have sold like hotcakes otherwise.

Thank you for posting.

And the back of the shirt?
