I'm jealous, I had to pay for my extra year as a BEd but that was way back when there were no fees and I had a grant (yes remember those?) albeit £200 a year.
Good choice of course Hampshire Seagull, I've been teaching in the primary sector for nine years and love the teaching. Unfortunately I have promotion to management now so I will become bitter and twisted with no time to enjoy myself or teach due to paperwork.
chip said:Why don't you try teaching in a fee-paying school to see if you like it and/or have aptitude. That way you get to do the teaching without having to do most of the nonsense that goes with it. Also, if you do like it your children (should you be allowed them) can usually get around 80% off the fees.
Edit: Should have added that you don't need a PGCE then. You could always do one if you did like it and wanted to risk your sanity in the state sector.
