Wifebeater Fergie is probably confident of getting a number of loan players from a Premiership team based in the North West for next season...........

I suspect Palace will be spending the 3million joint fee they get for Zaha and Clyne on Boyd to be honest, as he is a fan.

Boyd, McCann and Taylor have all refused new contracts I think so need to be sold this summer as next year they can go for free - even waiting for the January window would be risky in case of injury or loss of form and Posh, as well as having realistic/limited ambitions cannot afford to take chances. Their chairman is a fairly hard nut and other than being a wife beater Ferguson is pretty realistic. They will find another crop of non-league stars of the future and continue to score goals - it is the way they set themselves up and fair play to them.

Wouldn't really want any of them. Boyd is good, but we have Lua Lua, Buckley, Noone.

We need TWO strikers with presence (none of them are strikers - although Taylor was quality @ the amex) and a massive powerful CM, of which none of them are either.

Oh and a DECENT goalkeeper of which Brez > Lewis.

And a DECENT left back - none of them are!

Boyd if we can't keep Vicente would be a good shout but if I had to choose one midfileder who most matches what we have missed this season it would be Grant McCann. Excellent footballer.

@NorthStandChat Bozza, I'm out so can't post, but I know George Boyd's Dad. Brighton would be the last club on his list to move to!

A year or so ago Joe Lewis was the 'dogs' but then he got seriously injured.

Without knowing the full story, I would have thought he was worthy of consideration given that he is out of contract AND given our 'wunderkind' who seems to have sorted out Vicente and possibly others.

Thats one hell of a clearout! Boyd would be good and Lewis too but Gus always says he will only sign someone who brings something different. Not sure that either are different enough.

Boyd has been nothing like the player he was in League 1. That's according to my Peterborough supporting friend.

Posh are being sensible and having a clearout in advance of FFP being introduced. I expect us to do the same with the players still in contract but not in the future plans of the club. The other reason Posh are offloading players might be because they only needed to sell one player last summer.

It makes me laugh hearing a few Palace fans think they have a chance of signing Boyd, yes they could afford his wages and yes he's a Palace fan BUT they've not got the money to spend out 1-2million on a player unlike us :)

Some people saying about Lewis, Boyd and McCann. Add McLean to that list. We already have Cms...Am I wrong in thinking this is half the side that got relegated from this division a few years ago?
