[Albion] Pervis’ goal against Man City

You often see a left footer and a right footer poising to take a set-piece. This can confuse the keeper as to where the wall should be positioned and what area of the goal to cover.

I think Ortega was absolutely done by Pervis and Gomez lining up to take the free kick. Gomez even makes a slight dummy run to address the ball before our Ecuadorian nails it home. Well done to them both! Made in SA!

Yeah I bet it’s the first time he’s ever seen that done.

Pervis became our fifteenth different goalscorer this season.

I thought this would be quite unusual, but apparently we are joint top, and 3rd place is just one goalscorer fewer

But there are still a few players who haven't chipped in yet

Gomez
Ayari
March
Gruda
Webster
Dunk
Veltman

Very possible that a couple of those could get one by the end of the season.

Can't see Ayari getting one based on his shooting. 😁😁

Solly is waiting until the FA Cup final to score.

Actually he has already scored in the Cup hasn't he and therefore assume this is league only.

Carry on :poop:

I wonder, when was the last season that we didn’t see a Sussex-bred goal from Dunk or March?

Edit: It’s 13/14

Pretty sure I have seen Pervis being the go to man for Ecuador when it comes to free kicks and corners. Up till now Pascal has been the main man so he hasn’t had much chance before but that all changes now.

Not exactly - it was conceded a goal directly from such a free kick.
What's what i thought i'd written (Should have re-read it and made sure it was clearer before posting as i thought it would be taken as read in that i meant it was about conceding a goal, given the post I was replying to - Edited for clarity now)

That's going to be some goal kick

Possibly a header from a corner in injury time when down a goal and the goalkeeper is brought up into the oppo's box.

No, your right, that would never happen.

Maybe if it's 1-1 in the last 2 minutes at Spurs on the last day of teh season, and we need a win to guarantee Europe/Champions league.
