If it was hovering, rather than hoovering, that'll be a kestrel. Bird watching is very interesting, actually.Saw one over Tilgate forest today. Had to google it as this isn't my forte. All i saw was a brown bird with a black head in flight. Impressive sight i must say.
Saw another bird of pray a few weeks ago up on Ditchling Beacon. It was simply hoovering . Obviously had his eye on something. Not sure what it was. I should really invest in a pair of cheap binoculars. Didn't think bird spotting would be interesting if i'm honest.
Think it'll be three chicks left soon; one of them was hopeless this morning when breakfast arrived.
They are growing fast. With 4 youngsters to feed the pigeon numbers in central Brighton should be kept under control.
Unlikely to have been a little bird. They love a pigeon stew. They may pop over to the Adur and pick up a wading bird for a take out now and then. There’s currently quite an intense feeding session going on: one can only hope that the little bird now being so enthusiastically consumed is no longer with us. Nature eh.
