Annie Nightingale always had a lovely radio voice back in the day (as the yoot say innit).

ps Have we had a vote for the marvelous Blowers yet? If not, we have now.

Love listening to people who are clearly passionate about their job/hobby.

He is GREAT, I absolutely loved watching his programme a couple of months back. You're spot on, it's his total enthusiasm and passion for the subject that draws you in.

John Hannah, particularly when he reads the WH Auden poem in Four Weddings & A Funeral.

Looks like I'm a sucker for a soft Scottish accent. It has to be a sort of Edinburgh one, that harsh Glaswegian tone does nothing for me at all.

Quite a few of the endings to the World at War narrated by Lawence Olivier. One of the last ones he was talking about the japs getting prepared for the Invasion and said something along the lines....but the end would arrive in a different form...irrisistible, unimaginable...mushroom shaped.

Actually had to rewind it a few times just to listen again....

That's actually an East Kilbride accent - same as Mrs Watford zero  (but a little bit higher)

What about women, chaps? ???

Women whose voices make them sound devilishly attractive, even if in reality they look like the back end of a bus?

That's actually an East Kilbride accent - went to school with Mrs Watford zero

And where's that then (too lazy to Google it)? Scotland, obviously, but whereabouts?

Annie Nightingale, Annie Mac and Jo Whiley are all good to listen to, not that any of them look like a back end of a bus.

Probably not a popular choice I know but I love the voice of Joanna Page aka Stacey from Gavin and Stacey

Charlotte Green - Radio 4 newsreader. Have no idea what she looks like but I could listen to her voice for ages.

And anyone from the west coast of Ireland, just the most beautiful accent

The school was Claremont High in East Kilbride. East Kilbride is just outside Glasgow.

Usually I hate a Glasgow accent. John Hannah's is very soft.

Alan Rickman is another great voice. And the character of Lucius Malfoy in Harry Potter :lolol:
