Just before he takes a corner he touches the ball with his hand, is the ball in play when the ref blows his whistle for play to restart, if so is this hand ball?
Procedure
• The ball must be placed inside the corner arc nearest to the point where
the ball crossed the goal line
• The corner flagpost must not be moved
• Opponents must remain at least 9.15 m (10 yds) from the corner arc until
the ball is in play
• The ball must be kicked by a player of the attacking team
• The ball is in play when it is kicked and moves
• The kicker must not play the ball again until it has touched another player

PENNANTS CORNERS
I think you`ll find it is Pennant`s corners.
His first two corners were also taken from outside the "D" right in front of the linesman who did nothing - note the law quoted above that the ball has to be inside, not even on the line.
I listened to the game, not watched it, but a common error made with corners is whether it is in or out. The definition of being 'outside' the corner arc is the same for it being a goal or out of play; the entire ball has to cross the line, so if the curve of the ball overhangs the line it is still considered 'inside'. If it was entirely out of the quadrant, then ignore this.
Correct, I was there and every corner was entirely legal.
I must admit I've never really though about this. But, following on from it and in respect of scoring a goal where is the pitch boundary? The white line is quite wide, is it the inner side or outer side?

All of the ball must CROSS (i.e. be totally off the pitch) the line to be deemed out of play. So if its just on the line, and the arc is out of play but the rest is on the line then it is not off the field of play.
You are, one assumes, an Albion fan from the fact you are registered on this site and have posted 813 times (although this is not definitive). On the basis you joined in 2009 one can assume you are a regular viewer of NSC (although not a regular poster) and as such should have at least observed the heated debate with regard to similar comments made by Mr Steve Claridge over the penalty incident during the home game against Rochdale. Why then are you asking such a dumb question!!!!!
