Indeed. Sadly, it may well be that she had simply run out of energy.

And yet it only seems like yesterday she was lecturing us on how to parent your baby and "owning" Katie Hopkins on ITV.

This Be The Verse

BY PHILIP LARKIN

They f uck you up, your mum and dad.
They may not mean to, but they do.
They fill you with the faults they had
And add some extra, just for you.

But they were f ucked up in their turn
By fools in old-style hats and coats,
Who half the time were soppy-stern
And half at one another’s throats.

Man hands on misery to man.
It deepens like a coastal shelf.
Get out as early as you can,
And don’t have any kids yourself.

Glad someone posted the whole thing before I did. One of my favourite poems though, of course, I ignored his advice.

However if your thoughts are on her sleb lifestyle and not the people surrounding her you are missing humanity to a degree that even Larkin would struggle to convey. We are talking about two under twos, a young father and a dad who's now lost his wife, her lover (who's child he took on) and a daughter far too young. There needs to be only compassion.

Bizarre if it were a former Albion legend that had died, there would be nothing but respect.

A few have really let themselves down with some comments on this board today. Perhaps people should just stop and think for a minute if they were left behind with 2 young children without a mother.

This. Some people need to have a long look in the mirror imo. Staggering but hardly surprising.

I met her in 07 when some very posh, rich friends from Worth threw a house party. She was so far up her own arse it was unbelievable. She was also a massive slut and druggie. Still, very sad that a mother has died so young. That's all I have to add to the conversation.

Very sad that so many see truth in this.

Doubt children will read this so people being over sensitive .

It's about decorum, no?

Would you say the sorts of things that have been posted if it were your child, mother, friend, sister, ad infinitum?

Why would one see fit to comment on a tragic young death when she hasn't wronged you in any sense whatsoever? If there in no grief in you, then why bother to comment at all?

Without wishing to generalise, I seem to have a lot of women on my Facebook account mourning her loss, but fully expect them to have been amongst the masses to claim she was a spoilt rich kid with no talent and didn't deserve it all.

Probably says more about my opinion of my friends and colleagues than anything else.

Also something I noticed. I think it's the "in" thing to post a status about her death if a lot of your friends are, shows you're up to date with current affairs and also compassionate.

Outside her friends and family I can't see how it's sad, she never really did anything did she. There are a lot sadder things going on in the world right now that people couldn't give a shit about.

It isn't about certain people reading this, it's about having basic level respect for a fellow human.

A friend of mine knew her from a mutual group - she was a lovely person apparently, devoted to her children. A shame.

And you have done what exactly?
People don't have to do anything, no one knows the reason why we exist.
She just happened to be born into a famous family, not a crime.
Maybe the exposure, because of this, didn't help when growing up.
I think her death was probably accidental, but never the less, still a sad loss of a young life.
She won't go down in history as one of life's achievers, but then again, not many people do.
Maybe you are not a parent, but even so, your remark is cold and callous, I hope that you never experience anything like this involving a close family member.

Go on then, what's sadder than a death of a young mother?

Come on Wozza. Syria? CAR? MH370? There are plenty more events causing more pain and suffering. I'm not saying Geldof's death isn't sad but put it in perspective.
