I think youve hit the nail on the head.
RDZ just wants succcess and to have all tools to get as near as he can to top 4, he wants what he thinks he needs to get there (whether he would or not is a different question).
The club would ideally like the same thing, but are not prepared to bankroll anything outside the turd polish/sell for profit model. That shows Bloom and Barber are prioritising the moneyball model over on field success, and while of course they'd like both, like our Europa league this season, the onfield success bit is secondary.
Prudence wins the day and we lose a talented, driven and supremely ambitious individual.
It may be a sound financial judgement, but it does also highlight the limits and ceiling of the club.
