I didn't think it was possible for this government to be worse than the last one but they are certainly having a good go at doing it, may as well have not bothered with the last budget as everything Ozzie said has been uturned now
Very much this. Arguably the most gutless government we've ever seen.

Even the posh boys have stopped saying 'We're all in this together', one of the more laughable claims in political history.

I think it's interesting that they choose not to increase fuel tax when the rate of public borrowing has increased due to less tax coming in and more spent on employment benefit (well done austerity!) I find it hard to see how this is going to cause a huge difference to help the average household when other services continue to rocket, wages stagnate and people are losing their jobs. It's a simple popularist decision hopefully to deflect from the huge discrepancy of living standards that people experience in this country.

PS anyone worked out what Big Society means yet?

I give it another 2-3 months before the far right grandees start to tear Cameron and Osborne apart.

The Tory's will be ousted soon. You cannot do this to people and expect to stay in power.

All I will say is that she has some guts. She was being lambasted by Jeremy Thompson on Sky at 6pm, who was trying to do a Paxman on her but didn't quite achieve it. So to go from one career threatening interview to another is pretty courageous. Shame she had nothing to say of any interest in either, but there you go.

Innit. 3p a litre less on fuel isn't going to help anyone, even the 'people who drive cars' as the junior minister said on Newsnight won't notice a blind bit of difference. f***ing pricks.

Well with the 'we havent got a plan B for the economy' they are choosing the latter, proving what clueless fuckwits they are.

And if youve got an ounce of sense you dont have to be 'a lefty' (how very 1980's) to realise it.

Plan B being the Brown/Balls plan; spend all you have, then borrow and spend all that, then borrow and spend all that etc. etc. etc.

Yep. Something to do with the coalition partners not stiffing each other, wasn't it?

So now we're stuck with them. :(

I know we have fixed terms now, but there must be some sort of get out clause? What happens WHEN the coalition splinters? A minority government that can't pass any law?

This is what should have happened in the first place - the Tories should have formed a minority government with the Lib Dems only blocking the least palatable policies. The Lib Dems and Tories are not natural bedfellows.

I am a natural Lib Dem voter and won't be voting for this lot whilst Clegg is running the show. They sold out their principles for a whiff of power to some of the biggest clowns in politics. Absolute jokes. Say what you like about Thatcher and Tebbit, at least they had principles and some guts.
