Reading are apparently looking at signing him. I would be pleased if we went for him. However, I feel many would disagree. Why has he never settled? And would he fit in now that we are ace?

I would love him back here, as stated previously, the coaching the made El abd player of the season would see him hit his peak again. Plus he will always be regarded as a Legend here for his exploits in south london a few years back. He did also win player of the season. surely worth a punt

God no. He's been crap for the last six years. Don't be clouded by the Palace goal.

One of the most error-prone defenders in the Championship.

He was very good for us. I remember burnley away goal as much as palace. However, watching him on tv I do recall him making many errors. Most memorable Henry's handball goal for France. However his energy and commitment together with training could make him a class cb that improves the squad.

didn't we do this a week or so ago and wasn't the general consensus of opinion that he's dropped a major clanger every time anyone's seen him since he left us?

To be fair, have a look at the teams that he's been crap in - Keane's Sunderland and Phil Brown's Hull. He is hardly the only player to become shit in those setups. Having said that, I have probably watched him in the flesh more times than most on here over the last few years, and he hasn't shown the form we saw from him.

Old fashioned stylee centre half - we don't play that way now and I don't think he would fit into the Gus flair passing style. Accorded temporary legend status off the back of his winner at Selhurst, but wouldn't want him back now. We've moved on.

He's been crap over the last few years, and I wouldn't want him because he wouldn't live up to our expectations, and would inevitably tarnish our memories of him. I'd rather get someone else.
