They took after their manager in terms of all the niggling, ref bothering, fight starting etc.

Decent side though. Even if Dickov is miles wrong if he thinks they deserved a point, maybe he missed our thousands of chances and their one, being very small as he is.

Were you sitting in block G, on the end by block H? For some reason, I thought I recognised your voice from the phone in!

Yep, I was Block G, Row L. I asked someone for the Nottingham Forest score at half time, how bizarre would it be if that was you!

Yep, and the woman who answered said I was the first person who had phoned!

Will have to agree on that, how he didn't get sent off for swinging a punch at Barnes when his shirt was over his head is incredible. Disgraceful, and ultimately he got his commupance. :clap2:

Bit of context, Sheebo. ??? I scored a late winner for my 5 a side team last week in a bit of a relegation dogfight, and obviously there were a couple of congratulatory swear words thrown about in the heat of the moment.
:clap2:

Last week I did the same! We are third from bottom playing 2nd from bottom, 2-2 and I got my hat-trick goal to win it about 1 minute from the end. Thankfully the team we were playing were cool with being beaten by school kids :D

their number 18 ran him close for biggest prick though :tosser:

I did mean Dickov's number 2 but the player no.2 was an animal too

Because of Calderon's celebrations at the final whistle, in front of the Oldham bench. Frankly, that moment turned affection into pure manlove for that man. Such passion and desire, and he was one of the first after Sandaza to celebrate the winner too!

I saw that, what a bloke, rarely do you see such passion. Manlove indeed.

When you are up at the top, you are there to be shot at. In any sport at the top of the table they all want to topple you. This is where Gus will both motivate and use the large squad to keep everyone on their toes.
All very good preparation for our assault on the Championship next season.
What was really impressive today was Ashley Barnes's statement that the work that he had being doing with the Albion training staff had improved him as a player. if this applies throughout the team and we are top now, how much further will this team develop over the coming season? Loads, I reckon.

See you at Tranmere next week.

He sent his thugs in to do a job, fair play to him, he's an honest pro, he acknowledges class when he sees it!

:bhasign:

I really don't understand, why everybody thinks Oldham were an bunch of thugs today? I thought they played some decent football, and at times looked very quick on the break espically the first goal, which tore our midfield to pieces. Did you see an two footed lunge? I didn't, did you see a scissor tackle? I didn't. Yes they liked to put the boot in and were very physical, but they weren't thugs.

What do you think this is Netball?!

There was soooooooo much niggle on that pitch today. Calde and their player at the end were exchanging words. Dickovs number 2 seemed a right TWAT and was having words with Maurray when he got subbed. Lots of chasing the ref from Oldham too. They were DIRTY IMO.

I saw that with Calde he was really giving one Oldham player a right tongue lashing after the final whistle.

I dont know if they were thugs, or just bad at tackling/football. Certainly some of them were huge. But I clearly remember a shocking tackle on Bennett, a poor lunge on Calde, a kick in the face for Painter and a lot of dubious arm action in the air which the ref never really noticed/acted upon. And lets not forget the Barnes incident.

Never said that there were two footed lunges or scissor tackles however they were over physical in a vast number of challenges, the incident with Barnes and their No.2 was a red card for a number of other ref's but not today's. Its the way it goes. If you want to single out scissor type challenges, how would you describe the challenge on calderon which resulted in a booking. Late? Dangerous or just unlucky or badly timed?

You are correct, they could also play the ball on the deck and yes I agree with you on the 1st goal however, they knew what they needed to do to try and stop us and IMHO it was thuggish.

ps. I dont think its netball - :lolol:

Yes the guy should of gone for what he did on Barnes. The incident with Painter, well that was an accident. Painter put his head in when the guy was trying to bring down the ball in mid-air, yes it was an high foot but it wasn't cynical. Some of the grabbing was like wrestling and the Referee and Lino should of saw it better, but I didn't think they were that bad!

The tackle on Calderon was definitely late, but wasn't dangerous. We're going to expect alot of sides like Oldham to come here and stop us playing. So expect it to happen alot in the next few games.

We'll have to disagree on this one as I thought it was not just late it was royal mail and there were also some other shocking tackles, one on bennett, but you are right, we are going to see it happen a number of times this season. Dont think though we will see a more physical side though.

Ha! Nope, wasn't me. Were you with some guy who left about 4 or 5 minutes before the end?

Oh hell no! Haha, never leave before the end. I had Bennett 7 on my shirt, if that helps?!

I hope everyone saw the Calderon celebrations at the end, if not, if you missed out. Brilliant show of passion and celebration! And he was the first to head over to the fans at Plymouth aswell. Captain Calderon

That would have been COOL.
